UNCW's Huens Headlines 2024 CAA Men's Tennis Postseason Awards

RICHMOND, Va. (May 8, 2024) – UNCW junior
Harold Huens was selected as the 2024 CAA Men’s Tennis Player of the Year, headlining the group of postseason award winners voted on by the league’s head coaches.

Oliver Hague was chosen as the CAA Rookie of the Year and UNCW’s
Mait DuBois received CAA Coach of the Year accolades for the 10
th time.
Huens compiled an 11-5 record competing at the No. 1 singles spot for UNCW and was ranked 61
st nationally in doubles with partner Reece Falck after putting together a 16-4 mark. The junior was a perfect 2-0 in singles and 3-0 in doubles at the CAA Tournament and was named the event’s Most Outstanding Player. Huens, who finished the season on a four-match singles winning streak, is UNCW’s first CAA Player of the Year since Bruno Caula in 2021.
Hague registered an impressive 24-9 record in singles for William & Mary, including going 15-5 in dual matches. The freshman competed at No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 singles for the Tribe and closed the season on a five-match winning streak. He also excelled in doubles with partner Satchel Benn, finishing the year on a 14-match winning streak and registering a 19-5 overall record. Hague is W&M’s first Rookie of the Year since 2015.
DuBois earned his fourth consecutive Coach of the Year award after guiding UNCW to a 17-6 overall record and its fourth straight CAA title and 10
th overall after defeating Elon, 4-1 in the finals. The Seahawks, who are ranked No. 57 nationally, advanced to the NCAA Tournament for the 11
th time in 16 seasons. They put together a 12-match winning streak before falling to No. 14 NC State in the NCAA’s. DuBois’ 10 CAA Coach of the Year honors is tied with VCU’s Paul Kostin for the most in league history.
