WOMEN’S GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Mira Berglund, Campbell
Sophomore | Oernskoeldsvik, Sweden/Celsiusskolan
Berglund tied for third at the Golfweek Fall Challenge to help Campbell to a team title. The sophomore from Sweden went 70-70-68 with the final-round score a career low at the par-71 Caledonia Fish and Golf Club on Pawley’s Island. The team title was the 100
th women’s tournament won in the head coaching career of
John Crooks.
MEN’S CO-GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Kieron van Wyk, Charleston
Senior | Rumisig, South Africa / Curro Aurora
van Wyk competed against some of the nation’s best teams in a pair of tournaments over the last week and rose to the occasion in both. The senior from South Africa went 71-66-70 (-3) to finish 11
th at the Knoxville Collegiate against a field that included No. 7 Tennessee, No. 11 Georgia Tech, and No. 13 Ole Miss. van Wyk then turned around and placed third at the Inverness Intercollegiate, going 5-under (70-67-65) against a tournament that included No. 1 Auburn, No. 4 Vanderbilt, No. 6 Virginia, No. 12 Oklahoma, and No. 15 Texas Tech.
MEN’S CO-GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Jack Wieler, Elon
Sophomore | Bluffton, S.C. / Marvin Ridge
Wieler was co-medalist at the Myrtle Beach Golf Trips Intercollegiate with a stellar performance. The sophomore from South Carolina delivered three rounds under par (66-71-70) to go 9-under for the tournament. His 6-under 66 in the opening round matched a career low, while he led the field in par-4 scoring (3.73) and was second in birdies (16).
