CAA Cross Country Weekly Awards - Sept. 24

RICHMOND, Va. (September 24, 2024) – Northeastern received both CAA cross country weekly awards after strong performances in a competitive field at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational. Graduate student Tessa McClain earned Women’s Runner of the Week honors and freshman Tim Rank garnered Men’s Runner of the Week accolades.
 
WOMEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Tessa McClain, Northeastern
Graduate | Harvard, Mass.
McClain set a new personal-best time to capture the individual title at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational last Saturday. The graduate student completed the 5K course in a time of 17:31.99, which topped her previous top time by 12 seconds and gave her a first-place finish in a field of 345 runners. McClain’s performance helped the Huskies finish second among 45 teams in the event.
 
MEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Tim Rank, Northeastern
Freshman | Littleton, Mass.
Rank placed ninth in a field of 344 runners at the UMass Dartmouth Invitational last Saturday. The freshman posted a time of 25:13.5 in the 8K race, which was the top performance for the Huskies. Rank’s effort helped Northeastern place seventh among 44 teams at the event.
