The Weekend Preview – Sept. 26, 2024

RICHMOND, Va. (Sept. 26, 2024) – The final weekend of September features quality conference matchups, a return to the pool for a high-profile event, and more.

Women’s Soccer
Thursday will start with a pair of early games: Delaware visits Hampton (12 p.m., FloFC), and UNCW heads to Charleston (1 p.m., FloFC). Then, Towson hosts Northeastern (4 p.m., FloFC). William & Mary – one of two teams to pick up six points in the opening weekend – heads to Monmouth (6 p.m., NBCSP+/FloFC), and Stony Brook visits Elon (7 p.m., FloFC), while Drexel will host NJIT in a non-conference contest (6 p.m., FloFC).
 
Twelve league members are in action on Sunday, beginning in Wilmington with Drexel and UNCW (12 p.m., FloFC). The 1 p.m. slate sends Hampton to Elon, Delaware to William & Mary, Towson to Hofstra, and Monmouth to Northeastern for games on FloFC, while Campbell – which picked up six points in the first weekend of league play – hosts Stony Brook at 1 p.m.

Men’s Soccer
For the first time since Oct. 23, 2021, two ranked CAA teams will face off in conference play, with No. 14 Elon traveling to No. 22 Hofstra to headline Saturday’s slate. In a rematch of two of the last three CAA Finals, the Pride takes on the Phoenix at 2 p.m. on FloFC.
Four more conference games fill the weekend’s schedule, beginning Friday when Northeastern crosses the Sound to play Stony Brook (3 p.m., FloFC). On Saturday, Campbell travels to Delaware (11 a.m., FloFC), undefeated Monmouth takes on a Charleston side that looks to earn its third straight conference win (1 p.m., FloFC), and UNCW and William & Mary have the night game to round out the weekend (7 p.m., FloFC),
 
Field Hockey
Three games make up Friday’s schedule: Towson travels to William & Mary (11 a.m.), freshly ranked No. 20 Monmouth faces Drexel (4 p.m.), and Hofstra takes on Delaware (4 p.m.). All games are streaming on FloLive.
Sunday’s schedule includes all out-of-conference matchups, including an in-state clash against a top-five opponent. Towson kicks off the afternoon when it takes on Richmond (11 a.m., ESPN+). Delaware, Northeastern, and Drexel have 12 p.m. games on FloLive against UConn, UMass Lowell, and Rider, respectively. William & Mary travels to No. 3 Virginia (1 p.m., ACCNX), and No. 20 Monmouth finishes the week with a game at Temple (2 p.m., ESPN+).

Volleyball
The second weekend of CAA play features a pair of two-match series between teams that went 2-0 a week ago. Northeastern will travel to Greensboro to begin a series at N.C. A&T, while Towson and Delaware begin their Championship rematch on Saturday. Charleston, the other CAA team at 2-0, will host Campbell, while Stony Brook aims to improve on a 1-1 start with two at Williamsburg, and Hofstra follows a split out east by hosting Hampton in series that run Friday/Saturday. Elon and UNCW begin their weekend on Saturday. Ten matches can be seen on FloVolleyball.

Swimming & Diving
The defending CAA champion UNCW men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams open their 2024-25 season in a big way, hosting ACC foe Duke on Friday night at 6:30 p.m. The meet can be seen on FloSports. Northeastern also begins its season on Saturday at Vermont.
 
Golf
On the men’s side, Campbell returns to action after its last tournament was washed out, as the Camels will play West Virginia’s tournament across the state line in Fayette County, Pennsylvania. Delaware, Towson, and William & Mary will also compete in the event. Hofstra is in Connecticut for the SHU Fall Classic, Monmouth will play an event in Lake Placid, and N.C. A&T takes part in ECU’s Ironwood Collegiate Classic.

In women’s action, Hofstra, Monmouth, and Towson travel to Annapolis for the Navy Fall Invitational, while N.C. A&T joins William & Mary at ECU’s event in Greenville.

Cross Country
Charleston is the only CAA cross country team in action this weekend. The Cougars compete at the adidas/Winthrop Invitational on Saturday.
