Milla Frye are the CAA field hockey weekly award winners for the week ending September 8.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Anna Castaldo, Drexel
Graduate Student| Forward | Endicott N.Y.
Castaldo recorded her first six points of the weekend which saw Drexel go 1-1 against their opponents. The Dragons opened the weekend against Villanova, with the graduate student forward tallying two overtime goals to power her team to a 3-2 victory. Just two days later, Castaldo notched her third goal of the season in a 2-1 loss to Yale, leading both teams in shots on target in the contest with three.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Anna Moors, Monmouth
Sophomore | Defender | Tilburg, Noord-Brabant, Netherlands / Odulphus Lyceum
Moors helped anchor a Monmouth defense that went 2-1 over the past week. The sophomore defender recorded two defensive saves through 211 minutes of play, held her opponents to just 21 shots on goal through three games. Moors tallied the game-tying goal against No. 9 Rutgers on Friday, and the game winner at the hands of JMU on Sunday. The Dutch native rounded out her week with two goals and one assist.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Milla Frye, Monmouth
Freshman | Midfielder/Forward | Ratingen, Germany / Immanuel-Kant Gymnasium
Frye started all three games this past week and tallied two goals. The German native kicked her weekend off converting her second penalty stroke of the season in the contest against No.9 Rutgers. Frye then went on to score the game-tying goal in the match against JMU. Frye finished her week with a 1.000 shot-conversion rate and sits in a tie for the team lead with three goals on the season.
