CHARLESTON’S CALLAHAN EARNS CSC VOLLEYBALL ACADEMIC ALL-AMERICA HONORS

RICHMOND, Va. – College of Charleston middle blocker Caitlyn Callahan was named to the 2024 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Volleyball Academic All-America Third Team on Tuesday afternoon.

Callahan has a 4.0 grade point average while pursuing a master’s degree in business administration.

The All-CAA First Team selection produced a career year with the Cougars, registering a .388 attacking percentage and 155 blocks in 124 sets. The graduate student out of Wellsboro, Pa., averaged 2.43 kills and 1.25 blocks per set, helping CofC set a program record with 348 total stuffs in 2024.

Callahan becomes just the third Cougar to earn Academic All-American status. The middle blocker is also the first CAA volleyball student-athletic to earn the recognition since 2019 when Hofstra’s Laura Masciullo and Towson’s Camryn Allen both secured a second-team nod.
