A massive second-half comeback and multiple double doubles all highlight another Friday night of conference play!

Towson 79, Northeastern 43

Thirty fourth-quarter points led Towson (4-12, 2-3)  to its second conference victory of the season with a 79-43 win over Northeastern (1-12, 0-4).
 
Towson had built up a 49-37 lead heading into the fourth before it secured the win by outscoring the Huskies 30-6 in the final frame. Khady Leye scored 10 of her team-high 16 points in the frame, shooting an impressive 5-6 from the field and grabbing five boards. Between 6:41 and 4:03 remaining in the frame, Towson went on a 10-2 run with the freshman forward scoring all of the Tigers’ points. Abigail Jegede led Northeastern once again with an 18-point performance.
 
Delaware 79, Hampton 69

A 24-point first-quarter charge led Delaware (4-10, 1-3) past Hampton (4-12, 0-5) 79-69.
 
Seven scorers contributed to the Blue Hens owning a 12-point advantage at the end of the first frame. Less than two minutes into the contest, a three pointer from Rebecca Demeke put Delaware up 8-2, marking one of the five trey balls the Blue Hens hit in the quarter. The Blue Hens pushed their lead to 45-27 at the half and didn’t allow Hampton to get closer than seven over the final 20 minutes. Ella Wanzer led the Blue Hens with 20 points on 6-9 shooting from deep, while Aisha Dabo had 17 points and 11 rebounds for Hampton.
 
N.C. A&T 64, Drexel 57

Four double-digit scorers contributed to N.C. A&T’s (9-7, 5-0) 64-57 win over Drexel (6-8, 2-2) to keep the undefeated record alive in CAA play. 
 
In a battle between the preseason favorites and last season’s CAA champs, the Aggies had the upper hand, overcoming a 29-24 first-half deficit. After Drexel scored the first bucket of the half, the Aggies came out firing scoring seven straight to level the contest. The game remained close before A&T pulled ahead after a clutch second-chance layup from Chaniya Clark to make the score 56-51 with 2:16 to go. Aija James (14 points), Jordyn Dorsey (14 points), Paris Locke (12 points), and Chaniya Clark (11 points) combined for 51 of the Aggies 64 points. Amaris Baker had a game-high 33 points for Drexel.
 
Campbell 68, UNCW 55

Gianni Boone’s first career double-double lifted Campbell (9-7, 2-2) over UNCW (8-9, 2-2) 68-55.
 
With a game-high 20 points and 10 boards, Boone notched her first career double-double with most of her shots falling in the first half. One minute into the contest, she got the scoring going with a layup, before draining five more in the quarter to contribute to Campbell’s 16-12 lead. The Camels pushed their advantage to 36-29 at the half and didn’t let the Seahawks get closer than eight the rest of the way. Boone finished 9-17 shooting from the field and had five of the Camels’ 54 points in the paint. Ali Zelaya and Jania Hall each had 15 points for UNCW.
 
Elon 60, Stony Brook 48

A second-half comeback gave Elon (9-6, 3-1) a 60-48 victory over Stony Brook (8-8, 3-2).
 
Down 23-13 heading into the second half, the Phoenix let it rain outscoring the Seawolves 47-25 in the second. Recording 26 points in the third, Elon took the lead in the final seconds of the frame off a layup from Raven Preston and never looked back. With seven straight points to start the fourth, Elon never relinquished its lead, outscoring Stony Brook 21-10 in the final frame. The Phoenix shot 61.3% from the field in the second half, as Iycez Adams led the way with 17 points and eight boards on 7-10 shooting. Stony Brook’s Zaida Gonzalez had a team-high 13 points
 
Monmouth 59, Charleston 55

Fifteen points from Damaris Rodriguez gave Monmouth (8-8, 3-2) a 59-55 win over Charleston (12-4, 3-2).
 
Despite a fourth-quarter charge from the Cougars, the Hawks held on to earn their third conference win of the season. With less than eight minutes remaining in the game, Charleston had overcome a 42-34 deficit to make it a one-possession game. Within the space of a minute, Kemari Reynolds and Divine Dibula gave Monmouth a six-point advantage which it never lost. Rodriguez made a clutch free throw with 32 seconds on the clock to move the game out of reach for Charleston and seal the win. Taylor Barbot had 12 points for the Cougars.
