RICHMOND, Va. (Jan. 21, 2025) – Three programs earned recognition in this week’s CAA weekly indoor track and field awards, with N.C. A&T having a league-high two honorees. A&T seniors

David Strong all took home honors for their weekend performances.
WOMEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Lucheyona Weaver, North Carolina A&T
Senior | Hurdler | Fort Myers, Fla. / Dunbar
Weaver earns her second consecutive weekly award, placing third in a stacked 60m hurdles event at the Corky Classic. With three of the top six times in the nation coming from this event, the Florida native ran a personal best of 8.11 in the preliminary to advance to the final, where she placed third with a time of 8.14. Weaver sits sixth in the nation with this time, and first in the conference.
WOMEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Victoria Caldwell, Hampton
Senior | Thrower | Franklin, Tenn. / Brentwood Academy
Caldwell becomes Hampton’s first indoor track and field weekly award recipient, after taking home first place in the weight throw and sixth in the shot put. Helping her side win the HBCU Challenge for the second year in a row, the senior thrower’s toss of 18.37m (60-3.25) is now the top mark in the CAA, while her performance of 13.72m (45-0.25) in the shot put is now in the top 10.
MEN’S TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Junior | Sprints/Hurdles | Baltimore, MD / Calvert Hall College High School
Holmes collects his third CAA weekly award of the season, after one of the top performances in the nation at the Corky Classic. The junior sprinter/hurdle won his third 60m hurdle final, breaking A&T’s indoor track and field record. His time of 7.56 puts him second in the nation, and first in the CAA.
MEN’S FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
David Strong, Monmouth
Senior | Jumps/Hurdles | La Plata, MD / La Plata High School
Strong broke a program record while competing at the Quaker Invitational this weekend. The senior improved his CAA-leading score in the Heptathlon by tallying 5,323 points to not only break Monmouth’s program record but move up to 16th in the nation. Strong’s best performance came in the long jump, extending his conference lead by leaping 7.22m (23' 8.25").
