Adding a Tally to the Win Column
Trailing with 1:56 to play in its game against Towson last Friday, Hampton rallied from a three-point deficit to earn its first win in CAA play, 61-58. Jasha Clinton was the impact maker for the Pirates, scoring nine of the final points of the game to win. Aisha Dabo finished the day with 14 points on three threes, while CeCe Thomas, Tyra Kennedy, and Le’Asia Foreman each added seven points.
The Tribe is Marching On
With four-straight wins, William & Mary is rolling and has not lost a game since Jan. 10. The four-game win streak is the Tribe’s longest since February 2023. With victories over Monmouth, Northeastern, UNCW, and Towson, the Tribe is one of just six CAA programs to accumulate five or more conference wins. The duo of Bella Nascimento (15.2) and Cassidy Geddes (8.9) have been superb all season, combining for just over 24 points per game. William & Mary also sits second in the conference in assists per game averaging 14.17.
1000 Point Club
Leading Willam & Mary with 24 points in a victory over Towson, Bella Nascimento surpassed 1,000 career points. The impressive showing from the senior guard was her fourth 20-plus performance in CAA play bringing her average to 17.7 points in the conference through the first seven matchups.
One of the All-Time Greats
After an appearance against Northeastern, Belle Kranbuhl became Monmouth’s all-time leader in games played. The graduate student center has been a Hawk since Monmouth joined the CAA,making 131 appearances for the West Long Branch team. Since the 2020-21 season, Kranbuhl has averaged 6.4 points and 6.7 rebounds across her 2870 minutes of action.
Stealing the Show
Jordyn Dorsey has been a prolific shooter all season, but against Hofstra, set a mark that hasn’t been reached in almost a year. Tallying 12 points and seven steals, Dorsey’s seven thefts were the most by an Aggie since Maleia Bracone had seven against Old Dominion on March 24, 2024.
TEAM NOTES
Campbell
Campbell was 30 for 65 from the field and 8 for 25 from the deep against Stony Brook.
The Camels’ .400 shooting clip from the field is second in the conference.
Charleston
Taryn Barbot notched a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds against Drexel.
Nyah Willis led the scoring with 13 points on the day, adding four steals against Delaware.
Delaware
The Hens had three scorers in double-figures: Ella Wanzer (12), Chloe Wilson (12), and Rebecca Demeke (11) against Charleston.
Chloe Wilson is fifth in the CAA with 8.3 rebounds per game.
Drexel
The Dragons held Charleston, who usually shoots 30.5 percent from deep, to just 2-for-23.
Deja Evans finished with a season-high 12 rebounds and tied a career-high with five assists against Elon.
Elon
Jayda Angel and Kierra Morrow tied for the team lead with nine points each against Drexel.
Raven Preston averages a squad-best 11.6 points per game.
Hampton
Aisha Dabo had 16 points against UNCW.
Jenae Dublin averages a team-best 5.2 rebounds per game.
Hofstra
Hofstra improved to 3-0 this season when three players scored in double figures.
Emma Von Essen is three 3-pointers away from sitting fourth in program history with 183 currently.
Monmouth
Monmouth hit a season-high 12 threes against Northeastern.
Monmouth outscored Northeastern’s bench, 30-5, the largest margin for the Hawks this season.
N.C. A&T
Chaniya Clark had an impressive 19 point and 15 rebound double double against Hofstra.
The Aggies allow the fewest rebounds per game in the conference with 33.4.
UNCW
Tia Dobson scored a career-high 14 points and recorded four steals against the Tribe.
UNCW earned its first-ever road win at Hampton, after four previous losses.
Northeastern
Alyssa Staten had a near double double against Monmouth with eight points and nine rebounds.
Abigail Jegede leads the team in scoring with 16.1 points per game.
Stony Brook
The Seawolves forced 21 Northeastern turnovers.
Five Stony Brook players scored 10 or more points (Gonzalez, King, Ware, Moreno, Brantley) against Campbell.
Towson
Kayla Morris led the team with a season-high 14 points against Hampton.
Khady Leye led the team with 18 points, adding five rebounds against William & Mary.
William & Mary
W&M finished the afternoon 41.5% from the floor and 4-for-15 from deep against Towson.
Bella Nascimento is the Tribe’s lone double-digit scorer with 15.2 points per game.
