SCHEDULE AND RESULTS

NEWS AND NOTES

A Historic Start

With a 2-0 start to conference play, Hofstra is off to its best start since the 2014-2015 season. The Pride kicked off the week with a 75-67 win over Monmouth, snapping a seven-game losing streak against the Hawks. It was Hofstra’s first win over Monmouth since November 25, 1997. In a 63-57 win over Delaware, Hofstra defeated the Blue Hens for the first time since 2016 and marked the first road win since January 8, 2009.

What. A. Game.

With 1.8 seconds remaining on the clock, India Johnston drained a floater to lift Towson past UNCW, 70-69, on Sunday. The Tigers trailed by nine with under five minutes to play before closing the game on a 16-6 run. The Seahawks took control early and led by as many as 13 points in the second quarter. UNCW maintained the lead throughout the second half and was up 63-54 after a Kate Hollifield three with 5:13 to go before Johnston’s eventual game-winner.

Overtime Thriller

Towson wasn’t the only team to win in dramatic fashion on Sunday. Elon trailed William & Mary, 55-44, with under five minutes to play, but went on a 13-2 run down the stretch to force overtime. In the extra session, the Phoenix got early three-pointers from Laila Anderson and Raven Preston and then went 7-of-8 at the free throw line to earn a 70-66 road win.
