Four CAA Football Teams Ranked In Final 2024 FCS Top 25 Polls

RICHMOND, Va. (January 8, 2025) – Four CAA Football teams were ranked in the final 2024 FCS Top 25 polls released by Stats Perform and the AFCA.
 
Rhode Island (11-3) was ranked #9 in the Stats poll and #11 in the AFCA poll. The Rams, who set a program record with 11 victories, earned a share of the CAA Football title and received a berth in the FCS playoffs for the first time since 1985. URI defeated Central Connecticut State in the first round before suffering a close loss at Mercer.
 
Villanova (10-4) was ranked #9 by the AFCA and #12 by Stats. The Wildcats, who are one of six FCS teams to reach the 10-win mark for the third time in four years, made the FCS playoffs for the fourth time in the past six seasons. Villanova beat Eastern Kentucky in the first round but was edged at UIW in the second round.
 
Richmond (10-3) was ranked #15 by Stats and #16 by the AFCA. The Spiders claimed a share of the CAA title for the second year in a row and reached the FCS playoffs for the third consecutive season. Richmond, which posted 10 regular-season wins for the first time since 2009, was beaten by Lehigh in the first round.
 
New Hampshire (8-5) was ranked #23 by Stats and #24 by the AFCA. The Wildcats earned an FCS playoff berth for the first time since 2022 and 18th time overall. UNH suffered a first-round loss to UT Martin.
 
Stony Brook (8-4) was among other teams receiving votes in both polls. The Seawolves posted the biggest turnaround in FCS football in 2024, recording their first winning season since 2018 after going winless a year ago.
