Jumana Martin split Defensive of the Week recognition on Monday.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Gwen Wolkow, Campbell
Senior | Outside Hitter | Downers Grove, Ill.
Wolkow set or tied single-match career highs in kills (24), blocks (5), aces (5) and hitting percentage (.404) during Campbell’s two-win weekend over UNCW. She also tallied her 1000
th career kill, becoming the 15th Camel to reach the milestone. Wolkow powered Campbell to Friday's five-set win with a career-best 24 kills on .404 hitting. The senior’s hitting percentage was also a career best in a match with at least 30 attacks and her 24 slams were the most by a Camel since 2019. The outside hitter added a personal-best five service aces on the night and came up with 10 digs for a double-double. The Downers Grove, Ill., native stayed hot on Sunday with 11 kills and proved to be more of a defensive force with a team-high five blocks, including stuffs on the last two points of the match, to tie her career-high.
CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jumana Martin, Charleston
Freshman | Defensive Specialist | Fort Mill, S.C.
Martin was once again dominant for Charleston, averaging 7.00 digs per set over the weekend. In Friday's victory over North Carolina A&T, Martin recorded 24 digs in just three sets, helping hold the Aggies to a .121 hitting percentage. Her 24 digs are fourth-most in a three-set match in the rally-scoring era (2001). In Saturday's match, the freshman had a career-best 32 digs for the Cougars, becoming just the fifth Cougar since 2001 to have at least 32 digs in a match.
CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Lilia Duczek, Hofstra
Freshman | Middle Blocker | Magdalenka, Poland
Duczek helped the Pride to a pair of road wins at Hampton, totaling a league-best 13 blocks to go with four kills and two service aces. She started the week with eight blocks in Thursday's victory, while adding a kill, an assist, and a service ace. The freshman middle blocker added five more stuffs, three kills and a service ace in Saturday’s straight-set triumph. For the week, she averaged 2.17 blocks, 0.67 kills and 0.33 service aces per set. Duczek has five or more blocks in four consecutive matches.
CO-ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Nina Jioshvili-Ravva, Hofstra
Freshman | Setter | La Roquette-sur-Siagne, France
Jioshvili-Ravva had another strong week for the Pride in their two wins to extend the winning streak to four. The setter out of La Roquette-sur-Siagne, France, averaged 10.50 assists, 1.83 digs, 1.17 blocks, and 0.83 kills per set. On Thursday, the freshman had 28 assists, four digs, and four blocks to power the Pride to the sweep. She followed that up with 35 assists, seven digs, four kills, and three blocks in Friday's victory. Jioshvili-Ravva set the Pride offense to near perfection as Hofstra produced a .487 attack percentage in the match.
