RICHMOND, Va. (October 22, 2025) – Four standout freshmen from CAA Football have been selected to the watch list for the Stats Perform 2025 Jerry Rice Award, which recognizes the freshman player of the year in FCS football.

Chosen to the 22-player watch list were New Hampshire linebacker Trevor Barry, Elon quarterback Landen Clark, Towson quarterback Andrew Indorf and Monmouth defensive end Lamont Lester, Jr.

Barry leads New Hampshire and ranks 13th in the CAA with 56 tackles and also has a tackle for loss. He has recorded at least six stops in six of the Wildcats’ eight games and has played a key role for a UNH defense that is allowing just 22.3 points per game.

Clark has completed 104-of-184 passes for 1,630 yards and 10 touchdowns and is Elon’s second-leading rusher with 407 yards and 7 TD’s. He ranks third in the CAA and 24th in FCS in total offense (254.6 ypg) and has thrown for over 200 yards four times.

Indorf has completed 120-of-194 passes for 1,458 yards and nine touchdowns. He has thrown for over 230 yards in three of his last four contests, including a career-best 292 yards vs. nationally ranked Monmouth, and has at least one TD pass in seven of his eight games.

Lester has been a force on the Monmouth defensive line with 25 tackles, 6.5 sacks and five quarterback hurries. He ranks third in the CAA and 11th in FCS in sacks and has been involved in at least one sack in seven of the Hawks’ eight contests.

The Rice Award, celebrating its 15th anniversary season, is named after legendary Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice, who starred in the FCS at Mississippi Valley State University. Past recipients include Cooper Kupp, Chase Edmonds, Trey Lance, Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders.

True and redshirt freshmen are eligible for the Jerry Rice Award. A group of finalists is selected after the regular season before a national panel votes on a recipient.

The 2025 Jerry Rice Award recipient will be announced on Dec. 3 and honored at the Stats Perform National Awards Show on Jan. 3 in Nashville, Tennessee.
