Olivia Pearse split Defensive Player of the Week in the final CAA Women’s Soccer Weekly Awards of the season.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Kale’a Perry, Towson
Graduate Student | Forward | Waldorf, Md.
Perry netted a brace in the Tigers’ season finale win over Drexel. The graduate student notched two of the team’s three goals in the 3-0 victory. Her first goal came just 5:12 into the contest, before tucking away an outside cross on the doorstep in the 38th minute for her eighth of the season.
CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Eliza Teplow, Northeastern
Junior | Goalkeeper | Wellesley, Mass.
Teplow tied her career-high with 11 saves in a 0-0 draw at Monmouth. The junior netminder posted her third shutout of the season in the game against the North Division’s top seed in the CAA Women’s Soccer Championship. The Wellesley, Mass., native saw an onslaught of Hawks’ chances, turning away a third of their opportunities as Monmouth rattled off 33 total shot attempts in Sunday’s season finale.
CO-DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Olivia Pearse, Hofstra
Graduate Student | Defender | Seaford, N.Y.
Pearse sent the Pride into the postseason with her game-winning strike in the 79th minute of Sunday’s 3-2 win over Stony Brook. The graduate defender out of Seaford, N.Y., went bar down for her fourth goal of the season, firing a 20-yard shot over the keeper’s hands for the game-winner in the 79th minute. The goal was instrumental in Hofstra locking up the third seed in the CAA Women’s Soccer Championship.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Mia Abbey, William & Mary
Freshman | Midfielder | Elmer, N.J.
Abbey provided the game-winning goal in the Tribe’s 4-0 win over Hampton on Sunday. The freshman midfielder cleaned up Sheridan Brummett’s free-kick shot, tucking home the rebound in the 17th minute. The goal marked Abbey’s first collegiate goal.
