RICHMOND, Va. (October 30, 2025) – The 2025 CAA Cross Country Championships will be run at Ocean County Park in Lakewood, N.J. for the first time as 12 women’s teams and 10 men’s squads compete for titles on Friday, October 31. Northeastern claimed its first CAA Women’s Cross Country Championship last year but has had to replace all four of its all-conference performers from that squad. Junior Keira Gamily and sophomore Emily Wickard were the Huskies’ top finishers at the ECAC Championship two weeks ago.

Elon had its streak of five consecutive CAA women’s cross country titles come to an end last year, but the Phoenix, who are ranked No. 11 in the Southeast Region, are looking to regain the top spot. Junior Katie Blount set a 6K school record (19:37.1) at the Paul Short Run on Oct. 3 and that time is slightly faster than the all-time mark at the CAA Championship. Also back are Abby Beville and Hannah Weber, who earned All-CAA honors a year ago.

William & Mary owns 23 CAA Women’s Cross Country championships, with the most recent coming in 2018. The Tribe should be strong contenders with senior Perry Irons, who is coming off an 8th-place finish at the Princeton Fall Classic, where she posted the fastest 6K time (20:10.7) by a W&M runner since 2015. Sophomore Molly Weithman earned All-CAA honors a year ago.

Stony Brook has finished in the top four at the past three CAA women’s championships. Amelie Guzman registered a new personal best time (21:13) at the Paul Short Run.

On the men’s side, Stony Brook, which is ranked No. 14 in the Northeast Region, has captured the past three CAA cross country titles. Back to lead the Seawolves are juniors Henry Gartner and Collin Gilstrap, who placed fourth and fifth, respectively, at last year’s event.

Northeastern, which is ranked No. 11 in the Northeast Region, has placed in the top two at the past 12 CAA Championships. NU finished just one point behind SBU a year ago and will try to claim its first title since 2020. Senior Patrick Cantlon is coming off an individual title at the ECAC Championship, while sophomore Nico Boyle was fifth in that race.

William & Mary won 20 straight CAA championships from 2000-2019 and was only six points behind Stony Brook a year ago. The Tribe, which is ranked No. 15 in the Southeast Region, is led by junior Hayes Trapp, who finished fourth at last year’s CAA Championship and is coming off a strong effort at the Princeton Fall Classic where he posted the fastest 8K time by a W&M runner in over 15 years.

Host Monmouth has finished fourth at the past three CAA Championships. The Hawks, who are ranked No. 14 in the Mid-Atlantic Region, are led by grad student Tennessee Tremain.

Individually, Hofstra senior Abraham Longosiwa is back after finishing second at the CAA Championship in 2024. He ran the fastest 8K time (22:45) in school history to win the Metropolitan XC Championship on October 11 and that time was eight seconds faster than the 8K record at the CAA Championship.
