William Carr and
Jack Wieler picked up CAA Men’s Co-Golfer of the Week honors on Wednesday after the duo both shot a 10-under at the West Bay Collegiate Invitational, hosted by FGCU.
MEN’S CO-GOLFER OF THE WEEK
William Carr, Elon
Freshman | Raleigh, N.C.
Carr guided Elon to a runner-up finish with a 10-under 206, setting the program record for lowest 54-hole score by a freshman. Opening the competition with a 4-under 68, the freshman birdied on five of the front nine holes. The Raleigh, N.C., native matched a season-low just hours later with a 5-under 67 in the second round, going nearly bogey-free with six birdies. Carr rallied late in the final round with birdies on three of the final four holes to card a 1-under 71 and secure his first career top-10 finish.
MEN’S CO-GOLFER OF THE WEEK
Jack Wieler, Elon
Junior | Bluffton, S.C.
Wieler also posted a 10-under 206 with a stellar finish to the West Bay Collegiate Invitational. The junior shot a 66 in back-to-back rounds, marking the lowest scores of Wieler’s collegiate career. The Bluffton, S.C., native was bogey-free over his final 18 holes and tallied 14 birdies to two bogeys over the final 36 holes. Wieler has a pair of top-10 finishes and three top-25 finishes in Elon's three tournaments this season.
