Drexel Set To Face Saint Joseph’s In First Round Of 2025 NCAA Field Hockey Championship

RICHMOND, Va. (Nov. 9, 2025) – After a 3-2 win in the CAA Field Hockey Championship Game on Sunday afternoon, Drexel will make its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2012 with a First Round matchup against Saint Joseph’s. Wednesday’s contest from Chapel Hill, N.C. is slated for 2 p.m.

The advancing team of Wednesday’s contest will go on to face top-seed North Carolina on Friday, November 14.

Currently on a four-game win streak, Drexel (13-7) lifted its first CAA Title since 2012 off the back of a four-point performance from Valentine Van Hellemont in the championship game. The back-to-back CAA Player of the Year is having a career season with 28 points to her name while adding a personal best 12 assists.

The meeting with the Hawks marks the second of the season, with Drexel beating then No. 20 Saint Joseph’s 3-2. Natali Foster had three points in the contest, helping her earn CAA Defensive Player of the Week honors in the overtime victory.
