Charleston, earning the No.23 spot on the preseason rankings, jumped to No. 19 this week with a 2-0 start to the season. With a 135-41 victory over Covenant College, the Cougars scored the most points in program history while marking the ninth instance since 1991 it has scored 100 points in a game. Drexel shot up to No. 25 after receiving votes in the preseason poll. With a 2-0 run at the start of the campaign, the Dragons are back in the rankings since early 2024.

The accolades continue to roll in for the CAA Player of the Week, Laine McGurk, who was named the Big 5’s Player of the Week. The junior led Drexel to a 2-0 start to the season after standout performances against Pitt and Marist. McGurk combined for 48 points on the week, including a career-high 33 in the season opener over Pitt. The victory marked the Dragons’ first over a Power 4 school since 2022.
