CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (Nov. 12, 2025) - CAA Champion Drexel (13-8) had its season come to an end with a 2-0 loss to A-10 champion Saint Joseph’s in the first round of the NCAA Field Hockey Championship on Wednesday afternoon.
After a stalemate through the first 15, Saint Joseph’s came out strong in the second quarter with Carly Hynd finding the back of the cage in the 17th minute. Despite a couple of quickfire saves from Dragons’ goalie Halle Geiger in the 27th minute, the Hawks doubled their advantage through Hynd once again to take a 2-0 lead into half. Saint Joseph’s held onto its advantage for the final 30 minutes.
Drexel finished the year with its third NCAA Tournament appearance and first since 2012. The Dragons' 13 wins in 2025 also means Denise Zelenak’s program has reached double-digit victories for a fourth-straight campaign.
