Hofstra's Kipkosgei Captures Men's NCAA Cross Country Northeast Regional Title, Earns NCAA Championship Berth

RICHMOND, Va. (November 14, 2025) – Hofstra freshman Freddie Kipkosgei captured the NCAA Men’s Cross Country Northeast Regional individual championship on Friday afternoon in New Hampshire.

Kipkosgei, who won the CAA men’s individual title on October 31, completed the 10K course in a time 29:12.7, beating his nearest competitor by nearly five seconds. With the victory, he earned a spot in the NCAA Cross Country Championship, which will be held on November 22 at Gans Creek Cross Country Course in Columbia, Missouri. He is the first CAA runner to qualify for the NCAA Championship since Northeastern’s Benjamin Godish in 2023.

Other top performance at the men’s Northeast Regional came from Stony Brook’s Henry Gartner, who placed 22nd (30:05.9), and Northeastern’s Nico Boyle, who was 34th (30:21.8). On the women’s side, Stony Brook’s Shaylen Goslar finished the 6K event in 43rd (20:53.2) and Hofstra’s Isabella Spagnoli was 63rd (21:06.5).

At the NCAA Women’s Southeast Regional in Earlysville, Va., Elon junior Katie Blount earned a 32nd place finish (20:16) and William & Mary senior Perry Irons was close behind in 38th place (20:29.3). In the men’s Southeast Regional, William & Mary junior Hayes Trapp recorded a 23rd-place finish (30:14.9) and teammate Brendan DiStefano was 63rd (31:08.5).

At the men’s NCAA Mid-Atlantic Regional, Monmouth’s Gavin Rossi placed 57th (31:14) and in the women’s event, Monmouth’s Kristen Sarnicola was 50th (21:11.1).
