RICHMOND, Va. – A champion will be crowned in Maryland this weekend as the 2025 CAA Volleyball Championship opens action on Thursday.

The three-day competition will take place inside SECU Arena in Towson, Md., for the sixth consecutive season. All five postseason contests will be streamed live on FloCollege.

No. 1 seed Hofstra (21-3, 13-3 CAA) and No. 2 Campbell (21-6, 13-3 CAA) earned a share of the regular season title, both securing a first-round bye. The Pride will look to capture its fifth CAA title, while Campbell is in search of its first since joining the league. The two programs will await the winners of two highly touted matchups on Thursday.

Top-seeded Hofstra will face the winner of fourth-seeded Charleston (18-9, 10-4 CAA) and fifth-seeded North Carolina A&T (14-11, 10-6 CAA). The defending champion Cougars are fresh off their second CAA title with their 2024 crown, looking to become the second team in the last five seasons to claim back-to-back championships (Towson). Charleston will also look to become just the second team to win the conference title as the fourth seed.

North Carolina A&T will make its second CAA Volleyball Championship appearance in as many seasons. The Aggies will look to claim their second-ever conference title in volleyball after capturing the Spring 2021 MEAC crown with a 3-1 win over Coppin State. A&T will look to be the first No. 5 seed to hoist the league championship.

The Cougars and the Aggies battled to a split series in the regular season. Charleston earned a 3-0 win in the opening match on Oct. 10, with all three sets being decided by four points or less. The Aggies edged out a five-set victory the following day thanks to a 27-kill outing from Tyne Ross. The two programs will meet in the postseason for the first time.

Campbell will await the victor of Thursday night's match between No. 3 seed Towson (21-6, 13-3 CAA) and No. 6 seed Stony Brook (11-14, 7-9 CAA). The Tigers have won the most CAA Championships among all teams in the field with five titles. Four of the five crowns were won consecutively from 2019-22. The Tigers will look to become the first No. 3 seed to win a title since James Madison in 2017.

Stony Brook will make its fourth straight appearance in as many seasons in the CAA. The Seawolves will look to become the first sixth seed to claim the conference title. Stony Brook will try to become the first No. 6 seed to reach the finals since Delaware in 2016.

The Seawolves stunned Towson in the regular season, sweeping the Tigers inside SECU Arena with a pair of 3-1 wins. Entering that weekend (Oct. 31/Nov. 1), Towson had lost just eight times on its home court since 2019 and had not lost consecutive matches at home since September 2018. Kali Moore unloaded a 22-kill effort in the opening match, followed by a 19-kill, 19-dig performance to complete the sweep. Thursday’s quarterfinal matchup between Towson and Stony Brook will mark the fourth consecutive postseason that both teams have faced each other.
