College football fans know the impact that wide receiver Marquis Buchanan has made on the field for the Rhode Island football program, but few realize the impact that the Rams' community has had on Marquis and his family.

Coming off a 2024 season in which he made 82 receptions for 1,124 yards and eight touchdowns to help lead URI to its first CAA Football championship and FCS playoff appearance in 39 years, Buchanan had plenty of opportunities to transfer to a higher level. However, the outpouring of love from the program's supporters during a time of need convinced him to stay close to home and continue his career with the Rams. The result has been a second straight CAA title and a shot at a national championship as Buchanan currenlty leads the nation in receiving.

In our latest edition of #CAAFB Going Deep, Griffin Della Penna tells the heartwarming story of Rhode Island's Marquis Buchanan.
