Top-seeded Hofstra (22-3) utilized stellar offensive efforts from CAA Player of the Year Izadora Stedile and All-CAA First Team selection Beatriz Braga to secure its spot in the title game with a 3-0 win over fifth-seeded North Carolina A&T (15-12). The Pride will make their first finals trip since capturing the CAA crown in 2018.

Braga notched a double-double on Friday with a 15-kill, 13-dig performance. The junior outside hitter also swung .500 at the net. Stedile unloaded 13 kills in the win, while digging out eight balls along the way. Constanza Perez Sain also reached double figures in kills with 10, and libero Nil Kayaalp dazzled on the back line with a game-best 19 digs, putting up eight assists along the way.

It was a tightly contested battle right out of the gate, exchanging eight ties through the early going. The Pride rattled off a 7-1 run, with Perez Sain slamming home a pair of kills before Lilia Duczek aced her serve to take a 14-9 lead. Hofstra continued to dominate the first set as Braga helped close it out with an 11-3 stretch that saw her put down four of the team’s final five points to secure a 25-13 win.

Much like the opening set, Hofstra and N.C. A&T exchanged blows with neither team gaining a lead larger than one to start the second set. After both teams traded three-point spurts en route to a deadlock at 12, Hofstra unleashed a 7-2 run that saw several diving digs and recoveries from the Pride’s backline that ended up as points, 19-14, in favor of the tournament’s top seed. Hofstra closed the frame with a quick 5-1 spurt to secure a 25-17 victory in set two.

North Carolina A&T controlled the early part of the third set, watching their lead grow to three, 7-4, after kills from Zariah Winton and Mikala Sampson sandwiched a Tyne Ross ace. After the Pride took a one-point lead, the Aggies registered a 6-1 stretch orchestrated by crafty serves from Luca Radnai, allowing N.C. A&T to slam down five kills on the run and take a 13-9 advantage. Hofstra countered with four unanswered points to knot the set at 13. After both teams went back and forth, the Pride’s Clara Bal drove two of the team’s final three points into the floor, capping off an 8-3 run and securing a 25-20 triumph in the final set.

A&T’s Ross registered 13 kills in the setback and earned six digs, a block and one ace. Valeria Estrada dug out 11 balls on the back line, while Leonor Polezzi recorded 28 assists.

Second-seeded Campbell (22-6) outlasted No. 6 seed Stony Brook (12-15) in a five-set thriller, remaining undefeated this season with a 6-0 record in matches that go the distance.

Freshman Maja Daca led the way with a team-best 15 kills to go with eight digs. Fellow All-CAA First Team selection Gwen Wolkow produced a 13-kill, 20-dig effort in the Camels’ semifinal win. Middle blocker Aley Clent unleashed 11 kills to round out those in double figures, while making nine blocks in the victory.

Victoria Tupy and Clent helped the Camels earn an early 8-4 lead as the duo exchanged kills before tag-teaming on a block on a Seawolves’ attack. Campbell continued to apply pressure and keep Stony Brook at bay as Wolkow spiked her attempt into the court to take a 15-9 advantage. The Seawolves surged all the way back to tie the set at 20 as Kali Moore led the charge, hammering home three kills during a late 5-0 stretch. Stony Brook fought off a pair of set points; however, Campbell’s Wolkow smashed the final kill down the line to capture the opening frame, 25-22.

The Seawolves capitalized on several attacking errors from the Camels to rapidly take a 19-11 lead. Quinn Anderson and Mopelola Ojo inched Stony Brook close to set point, 22-15, with emphatic kills of their own. Campbell did not go down quietly, staving off five straight set points before the Seawolves’ Moore tallied her sixth kill of the set with a tip down the line to earn a 25-20 win.

Stony Brook’s Zayda Fuertez helped her team jump out to a 5-3 lead early in the third set following back-to-back service aces. The Camels worked its way back to tie the frame, only for the Seawolves rattled off four straight points,11-8, with Ayanna Pierre Louis factoring in three of them with a pair of blocks and setting up Moore for a kill. Stony Brook started to pull away after Anderson sparked a 7-1 run with a kill and a denial at the net to help put the Seawolves ahead, 20-13. Moore forced set point shortly after with her attempt striking the top of the net and floating over the blockers’ hands, only for Anderson and Ojo to stuff the Camels’ attack for a 25-20 win in the third set.

Campbell’s Daca guided her team out to an 8-4 lead with three kills on the back end of a 6-0 run. Stony Brook countered with an 8-1 surge capped off by consecutive slams from Moore to take a 12-9 edge. The two programs went blow-for-blow until Clent took over the set with a solo denial and a massive kill to finish off a four-point swing that put the Camels up, 18-16. The senior middle blocker lived up to her position with an emphatic slam and a stuff at the net to close out set four with a 25-21 victory.

The Camels and the Seawolves went point-for-point to open the final frame before back-to-back kills from Hailey Heytvelt and Daca put Campbell ahead, 6-4. The tournament’s No. 2 seed pulled away with three straight points, capitalizing on a pair of Seawolves’ miscues. After keeping Stony Brook at a distance, the Camels strung together three unanswered points on consecutive kills from Clent, Wolkow and Tupy to seal the win, 15-9.

Stony Brook’s All-CAA First Team selection Moore put forth an incredible 27-kill, 14-dig performance on Friday. Madison Cigna controlled the backcourt with 25 digs of her own. Anderson also notched 13 kills and five blocks in the setback.
