RICHMOND, Va. (Nov. 6, 2025) – The 2025 CAA Field Hockey Championship gets underway on Friday morning with No. 12 Monmouth, Northeastern, Drexel, and Hofstra all looking for conference glory at So Sweet A Cat Field in West Long Branch, N.J.

Claiming the No. 1 seed with a 5-0 conference record, Monmouth (12-3, 5-0) will battle No. 4 Hofstra (9-8, 2-3) in the first semifinal at 10 a.m. on its home field. No. 2 Northeastern (9-8, 3-2) and No. 3 Drexel (11-7, 3-2) will duke it out at 1 p.m.. Both games will be streamed on FloCollege.

Last meeting on October 3, Monmouth came out 4-0 victors over Hofstra with four different players finding the back of the cage. The meeting between the two programs will be the first in CAA tournament history.

Northeastern and Drexel met a little over two weeks ago, with the Huskies earning a 1-0 win. Emilia Adragna netted the lone goal of the contest as part of her team-high seven-goal haul. The two programs have a history in the CAA Championship, last meeting in 2013 when the Huskies came out 2-0 victors.

Monmouth is in the midst of one of its most dominant seasons in recent history, spending nine weeks in the NFHCA rankings. Reaching as high as No. 11, the Hawks boast one of the hottest offenses in the nation, ranking second in goals per game (4.00), points per game (11.60), and scoring average (3.99). Monmouth holds one of the conference's only ranked victories of the season with a 4-2 result over No. 17 Rutgers on September 21.

Northeastern caught fire at the tail end of the regular season, piecing together a four-game win streak.  Led by a strong defensive showing in her first season in Boston, goalkeeper Arabella Loveridge posted the second-highest save percentage in the conference (.755). The graduate student shot stopper has also tallied two shutouts while averaging 5.40 saves per game during the stretch.

Drexel has already picked up 11 wins, marking the fourth-straight season with 10 or more to its name. The Dragons showcase one of the conference's most dominant scoring trios with Valentine Van Hellemont (7), Pili Lemoine (7), and Anna Castaldo (6) accounting for 20 of the Dragons’ 38 goals. Denise Zelenak’s squad has been sound defensively, allowing a CAA-low 24 goals.

Hofstra earned its first postseason berth in 10 years, finishing the season with a 9-8 record, including 7-2 at home.  Heading into the final day of action, the Pride needed a win over Towson to punch its ticket to the postseason and did just that, coming out 4-2 victors. After going down 1-0 in the first, Hofstra rallied off the back of Teresa Karoff’s conference-leading 13th goal of the season. Hillary Fitts’ team is riding  its second three-game win streak of the season.

The winners of Friday’s games will compete for the CAA title and automatic qualifier to the NCAA Field Hockey Championship on Sunday, Nov. 9, at 12 p.m.
