HIGHLIGHTS
Top-seeded Monmouth excelled offensively and defensively to post a 5-0 victory No. 4 Hofstra in the first semifinal game of the CAA Field Hockey Championship. The Hawks out-shot the Pride 24-0 in the contest with Monmouth putting 14 shots on goal.
On the attack, five different Monmouth players found the back of the cage with Lilly Ricks, Milla Frye, Claire Campen, Hannah Tromble, and Alicia Vanderlyde all tallying.
The nation’s hottest offense opened the scoring less than two minutes into the first quarter through Ricks. Pride goalkeeper Luci Hollister and her defense did their best to keep the ball out of the cage, but Ricks’ quick-fire shot off a rebound was too strong to keep out. Ricks’ goal was her first of the season.
With three saves in the first half, Hollister was able to keep the margin at just one at the break. She sprawled
to her right to deny Vanderlyde from doubling
the Hawks’ advantage.
Monmouth extended its lead to 2-0 midway through the third quarter
. Frye produced an incredible solo effort running the circumference of the shooting circle and backhanding a shot through Hollister’s legs.
Carrying a two-goal advantage into the fourth quarter, Monmouth started to rain in the goals. Campen got things started by scoring her team-leading 12th goal off a Florence Van Doorn assist in the 56th minute. Tromble followed off an assist from Ava Zerfass before Vanderlyde capped off three Hawk goals in the span of four minutes. The win marked Monmouth’s fourth by five or more goals this season.
Hollister turned in some big-time stops for the Pride. Four fourth-quarter saves highlighted an eight-stop performance, which ranked third in the freshman’s career.

HIGLIGHTS
Off the back of three points from Pili Lemoine, No. 3 Drexel held off No. 2 Northeastern, 3-2, to advance to its first CAA Championship game since 2022.
Lemoine was involved in two of the Dragon’s three goals, scoring once and assisting on Lily Haag’s game-winner. The All-CAA selection is up to six multi-point games this campaign, and has eight in her last two appearances.
Drexel held an 8-5 advantage in shots on target, forcing Northeastern goalkeeper Arabella Loveridge into four stops. Halle Geiger thwarted three Husky efforts while in goal for Drexel.
Just 10 minutes into the matchup, the CAA’s Co-Defensive Player of the Year Natali Foster showed her scoring prowess, netting her fifth of the season to give Drexel a 1-0 lead. Receiving the insert from Valentine Van Hellemont, Foster rifled one into the back of the cage.
Loveridge kept her squad in it, denying Lemoine twice from close range in the first quarter. However, the Uruguayan wasn’t to be kept off the scoresheet for long. Finding herself one-on-one with the Huskies’ shotstopper, Lemoine bested Loveridge on the third time of asking to put Drexel up 2-0.
Haag moved the Dragons ahead by three goals with seven minutes remaining, fully extending her stick to poke Lemoine’s cross-goalmouth pass into the cage.
Northeastern made a late charge, cutting the deficit to 3-1 on a goal from Camille Armaganian with 5:13 to go. The Huskies closed to within one just 38 seconds later as Lilly Smith scored to make it 3-2.
