RICHMOND, Va. – A champion will be crowned on Sunday as the North Division’s No. 2 seed Stony Brook welcomes the South Division’s No. 3 seed Elon for the 2025 CAA Women’s Soccer Championship at 1 p.m. inside Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium.

The CAA Women’s Soccer Championship game will be streamed live on FloCollege, with Johnny Gadamowitz and Joey Jarzynka on the call.

The Seawolves (12-6-1) emerged victorious over Hofstra and Monmouth to punch their ticket into the title game. The CAA’s leading goal scorer, Reilly Rich, notched a brace and her sixth game-winning strike with a golden goal from the PK dot to lift Stony Brook past the Pride, 2-1, in an overtime-thrilling quarterfinal. Three days later, Hannah Maracina found twine for the game-winner to send Stony Brook into its second-consecutive conference title game in as many seasons with a 1-0 win over the North Division Champion and top-seeded Hawks on Sunday.

The Phoenix (11-2-6) rides a seven-match unbeaten streak into the championship game after a win over William & Mary and advancing on PKs against No. 1 seed and South Division Champion UNCW. After getting a goal from Ashlee Brehio five minutes into the matchup, Elon put forth a resilient effort on the backline to earn a clean sheet and defeat the Tribe, 1-0. The South Division’s third seed conquered the unbeaten Seahawks by moving on through PKs, 6-5, after seeing an incredible 12-save performance from Katie Bisgrove. The sophomore keeper has stopped all 18 shots on target in two postseason matches.

A rematch of the 2024 CAA Semifinals will ensue on Sunday as No. 2 seed Stony Brook takes on No. 3 seed Elon inside Kenneth P. LaValle Stadium on Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. Rich and Linn Beck notched first-half goals for the Seawolves before staving off a late surge and an 88th minute strike from Elon’s Lauren McCauley to secure a 2-1 win over the Phoenix.
Stony Brook holds a 2-1 edge in the all-time series after securing a 1-0 victory over the Phoenix on Sept. 21. Rich capitalized on a penalty kick in the 59th minute, while Jona Hennings made two saves in the win.

Sunday will be a battle between the league’s top scoring offense, Stony Brook, and the CAA’s leading defensive team, Elon. The Seawolves have registered 42 goals and 42 assists this season, averaging 2.2 per game, both good for 20th in the nation. Rich has notched 15 of those goals to sit sixth in the country, six of which came in the game-winning variety (4th in NCAA).

Elon has the CAA’s largest goal differential at +23 to rank 21st in NCAA Division I, largely due to the team’s defensive play with Bisgrove in net. The Phoenix goalkeeper has logged an .822 save percentage (7th in NCAA) and a .659 GAA to go with nine shutouts (17th). The team’s save percentage at .888 is also third in the nation. Over the last seven matches, Bisgrove boasts a 5-0-2 record, while making 42 saves and conceding just five goals in the last 650 minutes of action.
