Alex Brown are the CAA women’s basketball weekly award winners for the week ending on December 14.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Taylor Barbot, Charleston
Junior | Guard | Floral Park, N.Y. / St. Mary
Barbot had a stellar week as Charleston defeated a Power 4 school for the second-straight season. In a 75-70 victory over Florida State, the St. Mary alumna posted a game-high 20 points. Barbot also chipped in with eight assists, four rebounds, and two assists. The Cougars' win marked the first over an ACC school since 2009 against Clemson.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Alex Brown, Stony Brook
Freshman | Forward | Manassas, Va. / Osbourn Park
Brown averaged 5.0 points and 3.0 rebounds as Stony Brook went 1-1. The Seawolves’ freshman knocked down all four of her attempts from the floor last week, including a 3-for-3 showing in the team’s 52-39 win over Duquesne. Brown also drained a pair of shots from the charity stripe to register a season-high eight points against the Dukes. The Manassas, Va., native also chipped in with four rebounds in the victory against the A-10 foe.
