AUSTIN, Texas (Dec. 16, 2025) – Hofstra graduate student Daniel Burko and UNCW senior Jake Shannon have garnered Academic All-America Second Team honors by the membership of College Sports Communicators on Tuesday afternoon.

Burko earns the Pride their second-straight recipient with Pierce Infuso taking home honors a year ago. The All-CAA First Team selection was superb in his only season in Hempstead, sitting second in the conference with his 13 goals alongside five assists.

Shannon, the CAA’s Co-Defender of the Year, had a stellar season for the Seahawks. Earning All-CAA honors three times in his career, the senior anchored UNCW to three shutouts on route to a 29th CAA Tournament appearance.

Shannon was a force on offense as well, netting three and tacking on two assists, both of which were career-highs. The Apex, N.C., native is a business administration major with a 3.80 GPA.
