CAA Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards - Dec. 9

RICHMOND, Va. (December 9, 2025) – Drexel freshmen Matas Cinga and Simon Huth swept the CAA men’s swimming and diving weekly awards. Drexel junior Mari Alencar and Stony Brook sophomore Francesca Baber shared women’s swimming weekly accolades, while Northeastern senior Anelise Kim received women’s diving weekly honors.
CAA Men's Swimmer of the Week
Matas Cinga, Fr. Drexel (Lithuania, Panevezys)
Cinga recorded a pair of first-place individual finishes and was part of a second-place 200 medley relay team in Drexel’s 175-67 victory over Lehigh last Saturday. The freshman took the top spot in the 150 free with a time of 1:14.48 that was more than two seconds faster than his nearest competitor. He also touched the wall first by nearly two seconds in the 100 free with a time of 44.73.
CAA Women’s Co-Swimmer of the Week
Mari Alencar, Jr., Drexel (Fortaleza, Brazil)
Alencar posted three individual victories and added a relay win as Drexel defeated Lehigh, 145-97. The junior swept the freestyle sprint races, capturing the 50 free (24.09), 100 free (52.95) and 150 free (1:23.11). As part of the first-place mixed 200 free relay team, she swam a 23.85 closing split.
CAA Women’s Co-Swimmer of the Week
Francesca Baber, So., Stony Brook (Bedford, UK)
Baber was named Swimmer of the Meet at the ECAC Championship, contributing three wins and two second place finishes to help Stony Brook capture its first ECAC title since 2010. The sophomore picked up victories in the 1650 free (17:27.36) and 200 free (1:53.31) as well as taking second in the 500 free (4:59.89). She added a win in the 800 free relay and a runner-up in the 400 free relay.
CAA Men’s Diver of the Week
Simon Huth, Fr., Drexel (Cincinnati, Ohio)
Huth recorded a pair of top two finishes in Drexel’s win against Lehigh. The freshman captured the 3-meter competition with a score of 248.95 and took second on the 1-meter board with a score of 225.95.
CAA Women’s Diver of the Week
Anelise Kim, Sr., Northeastern (Cincinnati, Ohio)
Kim earned second-place finishes on both boards to help Northeastern get past New Hampshire, 156-144. The senior compiled a score of 259.50 in the 3-meter competition and posted a score of 263.63 in the 1-meter event.
