NEWS AND NOTES

One for the Books
Earning a 92-71 victory over William & Mary, Campbell recorded its largest margin of victory over a CAA team on the road last Sunday. It marked the Camels’ third 20+ point win over a CAA team this season (W, 72-42 vs. Hampton; W, 75-54 vs. Delaware). The 92-point tally also marks its second most in a conference road win in Division-I history (since 1986-87).

Dragons Breathing Fire
Drexel is one of the hottest teams in the conference, carrying a five-game win streak into next weekend. The Dragons have bested Towson, Northeastern, Elon, Charleston, and Hampton since their last loss on Jan. 17. Amaris Baker has been the catalyst for Drexel in conference play, averaging 20.0 points on a .455 shooting clip from the field and 35.6% from deep. Defensively, the Dragons are giving up just 53.9 ppg, which is the second-lowest in the CAA, while holding their opponents to 38.3% from the field.

Charleston’s Barbot Hits 30 Again
Taryn Barbot went off in Charleston’s 73-42 victory over Hofstra, scoring 30 points.  The point tally was Barbot’s second 30-point performance of the season, after scoring 35 against Charleston Southern on Dec.
3. Barbot went on to fill out her stat sheet in the contest, with nine boards and five steals, knocking down five shots from behind the arc.

Protecting The Arc
Both N.C. A&T and Stony Brook sit inside the top 10 for best 3-point defenses in the conference. The Aggies come in at number five, forcing their opponents to shoot a conference-low 24.3% from deep, and allowing just 93 makes through 382 attempts. The Seawolves come in four places lower in the number nine spot,  restricting its opposition to 103 makes on 415 attempts for an impressive .248 shooting clip.
