CAA Swimming & Diving Weekly Awards - Feb. 4

RICHMOND, Va. (February 4, 2025) – RICHMOND, Va. (February 4, 2025) – UNCW swept the CAA weekly swimming awards following record-setting performances from juniors Jack VanHowe and Cameron Snowden. UNCW junior Ethan Badrian and Stony Brook grad student Sara DiStefano received weekly diving accolades from the conference.
CAA Men’s Swimmer of the Week
Jack VanHowe, Jr., UNCW (Rochester Hills, Mich.)
VanHowe set a program and CAA all-time record in the 100 back with a winning time of 46.30 at NC State last Friday. The NCAA B cut time beat the previous CAA mark by .13 seconds and ranks 60
th nationally this season. VanHowe also swam the leadoff leg for the Seahawks’ second place 200 medley relay team and placed fourth in the 200 back with a time of 1:45.89, which ranks in the CAA’s top 10.
CAA Women’s Swimmer of the Week
Cameron Snowden, Jr., UNCW (Santa Clarita, Calif.)
Snowden broke the program and CAA all-time records in the 100 fly with a time of 52.06 in UNCW’s meet at nationally ranked NC State. The time topped the previous CAA top mark by .64 seconds and ranks 35
th nationally this season. She added a third-place finish in the 100 free with a time of 50.13, which ranks in the CAA’s top five this year, and was a member of the Seahawks’ third-place teams in the 200 free relay and 200 medley relay.
CAA Men’s Diver of the Week
Ethan Badrian, Jr., UNCW (Silver Springs, Md.)
Badrian captured the 3-meter diving competition with a score of 328.88 in UNCW’s meet at nationally ranked NC State. He added a second-place effort on the 1-meter board with a score of 304.95.
CAA Women’s Diver of the Week
Sara DiStefano, Gr., Stony Brook (Staten Island, N.Y.)
DiStefano set a Stony Brook program record with a winning score of 304.45 in the 1-meter competition against Manhattan. The grad student also swept both boards in the Seawolves’ meet against Monmouth, posting a 3-meter score of 273.45 and a 1-meter score of 246.22.
