UNCW's Taylor Chosen As One Of Five Finalists For National Pitcher Of The Year Award

RICHMOND, Va. (June 4, 2025) – UNCW senior Zane Taylor has been chosen as one of five finalists for the National Pitcher of the Year Award by the College Baseball Foundation.
Taylor, the 2025 CAA Pitcher of the Year, is joined by Baylor’s Gabe Craig, North Carolina’s Jake Knapp, Coastal Carolina’s Jacob Morrison and Texas’ Dylan Volantis as finalists for the award, which will be announced on Friday, June 13.
Taylor turned in a sensational season for the Seahawks, going 11-2 with a league-best 1.98 ERA. The right-hander topped the conference with 105 strikeouts over 95.2 innings and he issued only 11 walks. Opponents batted .181 against him.
Taylor led the nation in WHIP (0.76) and strikeout-to-walk ratio (9.55), ranked second in walks allowed per nine innings (1.03), and was third in wins (11) and ERA (1.98).
