UNCW's Bagwell Receives First Team Freshman All-America Honors

RICHMOND, Va. (June 9, 2025) – UNCW freshman pitcher Cam Bagwell has been selected as a first team Freshman All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA).

Bagwell had a dominant season on the mound for the Seahawks, posting a 9-2 record with a 3.07 ERA across 15 starts. The right-hander struck out 62 and walked only 17 over 85.0 innings. He threw the first perfect game in CAA history on March 23 in a 12-0 victory against Campbell.

Bagwell received CAA Rookie of the Year accolades and was named to the All-CAA second team. His nine victories are tied for the third-most of any freshman in the nation and his ERA ranks sixth among first-year players.
