RICHMOND, Va. (Sept. 11, 2025) - Elon women’s basketball alum Zora Stephenson has been making waves in the broadcasting world as a play-by-play and sideline reporter with NBC Sports. She sat down with CAA Director of Creative Content and Reporter Griffin Della Penna to discuss life off the court and her professional development.
A dynamic scorer in college, the 2015 graduate played four seasons in a Phoenix uniform, averaging 7.7 points and 1.6 rebounds before moving to North Carolina for her first job in local news broadcasting.
Now ten years removed from her college playing days, Stephenson has already accomplished so much in her young career, including becoming the first woman to call a game as a play-by-play broadcaster for the Milwaukee Bucks’
“The way that everybody did more to help me, I don’t feel worthy of it,” Stephenson said.
“The only way I feel I can repay them is to do my best job every single day and help people whenever I can.”
After the Bucks came NBC Sports, where Stephenson once again proved her versatility doesn’t just come on the court. From covering Notre Dame football to the Olympics, and of course, more NCAA college basketball, it comes as no shock to anyone that Stephenson continues to carve out a name for herself in this industry.
“My career for me is a culmination of people seeing something in me that I didn’t see in myself,” Stephenson said.
