CAA Cross Country Weekly Awards - Sept. 2

RICHMOND, Va. (September 2, 2025) – Several CAA teams opened the 2025 cross country season last weekend and turned in some impressive individual efforts. Elon junior Abby Beville and William & Mary senior Perry Irons shared CAA Women’s Runner of the Week accolades, while William & Mary redshirt freshman Caleb Wilcox received CAA Men’s Runner of the Week honors.
WOMEN’S CO-RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Abby Beville, Elon
Junior | Hamilton, Mass.
Beville took home the individual title in a field of 107 runners at the Elon Opener, recording a personal-best time of 13.36.6 over the 4K course. Beville, who won the race by seven seconds, topped a group of five Phoenix runners in the top 10 as Elon also claimed the team title among 11 squads in the race.

Perry Irons, William & Mary
Senior | Philadelphia, Pa.
Competing in her first collegiate cross country race, Irons finished fourth among 167 runners in the Spider Alumni Open with a time of 13:34.8 on the 4K course. The senior paced a group of four Tribe runners in the top 15 as William & Mary placed second among 14 teams, only behind 20
th-ranked Virginia.
MEN’S RUNNER OF THE WEEK
Caleb Wilcox, William & Mary
Redshirt Freshman | Midlothian, Va.
Wilcox placed 15
th in a field of 138 runners at the Spider Alumni Open, completing the 6K course in a time of 18:35.7. His performance helped lead the Tribe to a second-place team finish, trailing only 6
th-ranked Virginia. Wilcox topped a group of five Tribe runners in the top 20 as the team posted its best finish in the event since 2019.
