Six CAA Football Student-Athletes Chosen As Semifinalists For Prestigious Campbell Trophy

RICHMOND, Va. (September 24, 2025) – Six CAA Football student-athletes have been selected as semifinalists for the prestigious William V. Campbell Trophy, as announced by the National Football Foundation on Wednesday morning.
Recognized as semifinalists from CAA Football were Villanova linebacker
Shane Hartzell, Towson punter
Bryce LaFollette, Campbell linebacker
Logan Livermon, William & Mary tight end
Trey McDonald, Stony Brook punter
Clayton Taylor and New Hampshire wide receiver
Chase Wilson.
The Campbell Trophy recognizes an individual as the absolute best scholar-athlete in the nation for combined academic success, football performance and exemplary leadership. There were 178 student-athletes selected as semifinalists across all divisions, with the group having a combined grade point average of 3.60. Of the 177 semifinalists, 43 were from the FCS level.
The NFF will announce finalists on Oct. 22, where all finalists will receive a postgraduate scholarship of $18,000. The Campbell Trophy recipient, which will be announced in Las Vegas on Dec. 9, will have their scholarship increased to $25,000.
