Dominik Renz earned CAA men’s soccer weekly award winners for the week ending on September 7th.
OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jasen Bottini, Monmouth
Sophomore | Forward | Upper Saddle River, N.J. / Northern Highlands Regional
Bottini scored three goals in two games and played a key role in the Hawks' 2-0 stretch. In midweek action against Iona, the sophomore forward netted a late game-winner off a free kick just outside the 18-yard box. Bottini followed that up with a two-goal performance in a road win over Drexel. The Northern Highlands Regional alum fired in two second-half goals to push Monmouth out to a 2-0 lead and an eventual 3-2 win.
DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Jackson Leavitt, Elon
Graduate Student | Goalkeeper | Allen, Texas / Allen
Leavitt goes back-to-back after another undefeated weekend in goal for Elon, collecting two shutouts. The graduate student stopped the lone shot he faced on Tuesday night in a 2-0 win over Radford before denying three shots on target from Charleston in a 1-0 victory. Leavitt has now notched three clean sheets in his first four starts this season, while also tallying consecutive shutouts for the first time in his career.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Dominik Renz, Elon
Midfielder | Ulm, Germany / Johann-Vanotti-Gymnasium Ehigen
Renz tallied a goal and an assist in a 2-0-0 week for the Phoenix. After contributing a helper in the win over Radford, the German midfielder went on to score the game-winner against Charleston. It was his second game-winning tally in as many CAA games. Renz’s three points this week led Elon.
