RICHMOND, Va. (September 8, 2025) – A pair of CAA Football players have earned national recognition from Stats Perform for outstanding performances in Week 2 of the season.

Bryant senior linebacker Brandon Perkins was selected as the Stats Perform FCS National Defensive Player of the Week and New Hampshire sophomore kicker Nick Reed was chosen as the Stats Perform FCS National Special Teams Player of the Week.

Perkins racked up a career-high 14 tackles as Bryant edged UMass 27-26 for its first win over an FBS opponent in program history. Two of his stops went for losses, and two came late in the fourth quarter when the defense forced a three-and-out to give the ball back to the Bulldogs for a game-winning drive. Bryant is the 12th different CAA Football program to post an FBS win since 2013.
Reed drilled all four of his field goal attempts, including a 40-yarder on the game’s final play, to lift New Hampshire (2-0) past Holy Cross 19-16. The Buffalo transfer tied the game with a 50-yarder earlier in the fourth quarter, and he also converted field goals of 33 and 30 yards as well as his one extra-point attempt. He averaged 60.3 yards on four kickoffs.

Stats Perform also recognized Monmouth quarterback Derek Robertson (Offensive), William & Mary linebacker Luke Banbury and Elon quarterback Landen Clark (Freshman) as honorable mention National Player of the Week picks. Bryant received honorable mention as National Team of the Week.
