Ashanti Fox are the CAA women’s basketball weekly award winners for the week ending on January 25.
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Deja Evans, Drexel
Junior | Forward | Conshohocken, Pa. / Archbishop Wood
Evans dominated as Drexel had a perfect 2-0 weekend for the first time this season. The junior eclipsed season averages in points (10.7) and rebounds (6.4), scoring 13 and corralling nine boards as the Dragons earned a 49-41 win over Stony Brook. She also chipped in with a season-high five steals. Evans helped restrict a second-straight opponent to under 50 points, lifting Drexel to a 68-45 victory over Towson. The Pennsylvania native poured in 10 points alongside five rebounds in the victory.
ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Ashanti Fox, Elon
Freshman | Guard | Vass, N.C. / Union Pines
Fox went back-to-back as CAA Rookie of the Week after leading her team in scoring for the second time this season. The Union Pines alumnae reached double-digits for the seventh time this campaign with a 16-point showing in the 67-60 win over N.C. A&T. Fox was one shy of her season-high, going 6-for-12 from the field in the win. She also added two rebounds, two steals, and an assist in Elon’s lone game of the week.
