CAA Softball Weekly Awards – Feb. 17, 2026

RICHMOND, Va. – Campbell’s Allyiah Swiney and Charleston’s Mackenzie Mathis picked up Player and Pitcher of the Week honors, respectively, while the Cougars’ Bronwyn Conroy and UNCW’s Camille Hamilton split Rookie of the Week recognition on Tuesday.
 
Player of the Week
Allyiah Swiney, Campbell
Senior | OF | Hamlet, N.C.
Swiney made a statement against top teams at the War Eagle Classic, posting a .571/.625/.929 slash line in four games. The senior went 8-for-14 with two doubles, a home run, four runs scored and six RBIs. After going 2-for-5 with a double on Friday, Swiney broke out on Saturday. In Campbell’s first game against Illinois, the Hamlet, N.C., native went 3-for-5 with a two-run blast to open the scoring in a 5-0 shutout. The Camels’ outfielder followed with a 3-for-4 performance against Binghamton, including an RBI single in the second inning. After the Bearcats took the lead, Swiney delivered the decisive blow with a bases-clearing, three-run double in the sixth inning to put the Camels back in front for good. On the day, she went 6-for-9 with six RBIs, 10 total bases and three runs scored.
 
Pitcher of the Week
Mackenzie Mathis, Charleston
Sophomore | P | Lexington, S.C.
Mathis dazzled at the Lowcountry Classic, boasting a 2-0 record with a pair of complete games, a 1.31 ERA and 14 strikeouts in 16.0 innings of action. The sophomore staved off Western Carolina with six punchouts in seven frames of work to capture a 3-2 win for the Cougars. She followed up with a dominant outing against reigning BIG EAST Tournament Champions UConn, allowing just one run on six hits with no walks and another six punchouts to topple the Huskies, 2-1. Mathis stranded the game-tying run on second after striking out Ava Calciano looking to end the game. Mathis pitched a pair of perfect frames and retired two batters on strikes against Penn in the weekend finale.
 
Co-Rookie of the Week
Bronwyn Conroy, Charleston
Freshman | OF | Marietta, Ga.
Conroy put forth a stellar weekend at the Lowcountry Classic, going 11-for-17 with a .647/.684/.706 slash line, a 1.390 OPS and eight runs scored. For the second consecutive weekend, the freshman outfielder swiped seven bases for the Cougars, including multiple stolen bases in three of the five contests. She started the weekend with a three-hit outing against Western Carolina before logging consecutive multi-run games with a pair of stolen bases against UMass and UConn. After driving in a pair of runs against Western Carolina on Sunday, Conroy went 4-for-4 at the dish with a double, three runs scored and two more swipes on the base path.
 
Co-Rookie of the Week
Camille Hamilton, UNCW
Freshman | P/UTIL | Garner, N.C.
Hamilton dominated the opposition in her three appearances at the Wofford Invitational, going 1-0 with a save, 16 strikeouts and just four baserunners allowed in 10 innings of work. The freshman hurler opened the weekend with two perfect frames and struck out five of the six batters she faced to pick up the save against St. Bonaventure. In the same day, Hamilton followed up with three innings of work and surrendered a hit and a walk while punching out three batters against the host Terriers. The Garner, N.C., native tossed a complete-game shutout against UMBC, logging a season-best six strikeouts and allowing just two hits in the winning effort.
