N.C. A&T 102, Elon 82

Producing one of the best shooting performances in league play in more than eight years, N.C. A&T (11-15, 4-11 CAA) drained its final 11 shots from the floor to secure a 102-82 victory at Elon (14-14, 6-9 CAA). The Aggies’ 66.7% shooting clip from the floor (38-57 FG) was the best shooting efficiency in a conference game since Charleston shot 68.0% against UNCW on Feb. 17, 2018. Trent Middleton Jr. went 10-for-13 from the floor en route to a 24-point, eight-assist and seven-rebound performance. Lewis Walker matched Middleton with 24 points, going 7-for-11 from the floor and 10-for-10 from the charity stripe. Zamoku Weluche-Ume put forth a 19-point, 10-board double-double, while Mujahiid Burton chipped in 17 points of his own. Will Felton rounded out those in double figures with 10 points. Elon’s Bryson Cokley led his team with 19 points.
Walker and Weluche-Ume guided the team out to an early five-point lead, and each had a pair of makes as the Aggies connected on five of their first six shots. Elon’s Cokley helped take a one-point edge, 16-15, after sinking a pair of trifectas. N.C. A&T surged with nine straight points before watching their lead grow to as many as 15. An 8-0 run highlighted by back-to-back treys from Burton and Weluche-Ume in the final 2:17 of the half put the Aggies up 51-36 with 90 seconds to play in the half. Middleton closed the frame with a pull-up jumper to counter a quick 5-0 spurt by the Phoenix and help A&T take a 53-41 edge into the break.
The two teams exchanged blows to open the contest, watching Elon work its deficit down to six, 62-56, after seeing Randall Pettus II connect on three 3-pointers. It was all Aggies over the final 17:24 of the game as the visitors connected on 16 of their final 18 shots from the floor. N.C. A&T watched its advantage expand to as many as 22 down the stretch, seeing Walker and Middleton combined for 29 points in the second half. The Aggies connected on 11 straight attempts to close out the game and secure the 20-point win.
Charleston 74, Monmouth 63

Charleston (19-10, 12-4 CAA) locked up a double bye in the upcoming 2026 Air Force Reserve CAA Men’s Basketball Championship with a 74-63 victory over Monmouth (14-14, 8-7 CAA) at home. Christian Reeves led all scorers with a 19-point, 10-rebound double-double, going 8-for-10 from the floor. Chris Davis Jr. notched a season-high 16 points with three of his five makes coming from distance and a 3-of-3 showing at the line. Chol Machot and Jlynn Counter logged 14 points apiece, seeing the latter dish out six assists. The Hawks’ Jason Rivera-Torres and Stefanos Spartalis chipped in 13 points apiece.
Both teams traded blows over the first nine minutes of the contest, seeing neither program extend a lead past one possession. Monmouth’s Dok Muordar capped off a six-point swing at 10:41 to give his team an 18-13 lead. The Cougars responded quickly with a 10-2 run capped off by a Christian Reeves slam to go up 23-20 with 8:09 to play. CofC doubled its lead with a Connor Hickman triple before taking a four-point edge, 39-35, into the intermission.
The two teams traded 7-0 runs following an opening bucket at the rim from the Hawks’ Spartalis to make it a two-point game. Machot scored the next four points before Davis connected on a pair of triples, part of a 13-2 run that gave the Cougars a 59-46 advantage with under nine minutes remaining. Charleston’s big men continued to have a response for all of Monmouth’s buckets down the stretch before Counter closed the game with three makes at the line for an 11-point win.
Hofstra 82, Northeastern 68

Hofstra (19-10, 10-6 CAA) helped Head Coach Speedy Claxton secure his 100
th career win with an 82-68 victory at Northeastern (6-20, 2-13 CAA). Cruz Davis led all scorers with 22 points on 7-of-15 shooting, adding three boards and three assists. Preston Edmead notched a 19-point effort with five assists and five rebounds. German Plotnikov matched Edmead with a trio of treys before finishing with 18 points. The Huskies’ William Kermoury led the way with a team-leading 17 points, watching three of his four makes come from distance and sinking all six of his free throws.
The Pride jumped out to a double-digit lead, 17-6, through the first 6:35 of the contest, led by 3-pointers from Edmead, Plotnikov and Joshua DeCady. The Huskies stormed back as Kermoury sank a triple and Xavier Abreu finished in close to cap off an 18-4 run that put the home team ahead by three, 24-21, with seven minutes to play. Hofstra quickly responded with an 11-2 spree after Davis started and ended the run with makes from distance. The Pride took a 39-30 lead into the break.
Hofstra came out firing on all cylinders and took a 22-point lead after Biggie Patterson sank a corner 3-pointer to cap off an 11-point run, part of a 19-6 scoring spree to open the frame. Northeastern battled back and utilized a Youri Fritz layup and a Mike Loughnane triple to spark a 14-4 run to pull them within 11 with under three minutes to play. Hofstra closed out the game at the free-throw line, watching its final 10 points come from the stripe to secure a 14-point win. Northeastern had double-doubles from Fritz (14 pts, 11 rebs) and Abreu (10 pts, 10 rebs).
UNCW 73, Campbell 68

UNCW (24-4, 13-2 CAA) earned a 73-68 road win over Campbell (13-15, 7-8 CAA) behind a 17-point showing from Jahnathan Lamothe. The junior guard sank four of his five makes from behind the arc. Christian May produced all 13 of his points in the second half, chipping in four boards along the way. Patrick Wessler registered his 14
th double-double of the season with 11 points and 14 rebounds, eight of which came on the offensive glass. The Camels’ Chris Fields Jr. paced his team with 17 points.
Campbell capitalized on triples from Dovydas Butka and Cam Gregory to claim an early 10-4 lead out of the gate. UNCW’s Lamothe and the Camels’ DJ Smith traded a pair of treys to offset each other and keep Campbell ahead by six with under 12 minutes to play. Lamothe eventually tied the game at 22 and secured a two-point edge, 30-28, with his hot hand from distance. Shortly after, the Camels registered seven unanswered points with under four minutes to play to reclaim a 35-30 lead with 2:25 remaining. UNCW closed out the frame with six unanswered points to take a 36-35 halftime lead.
After a pair of Nolan Hodge triples put the Seahawks ahead by seven, Campbell unloaded 11 unanswered points to take a 48-44 edge with under 13 minutes to play. May helped UNCW reclaim the upperhand after closing a six-point swing with a trifecta. Tasos Cook quickly retaliated with a trey of his own, sparking a 9-0 scoring spree to go up 57-50 with at 7:55. May came up clutch down the stretch as he sparked a 14-1 run with a backdoor slam and a triple with under five minutes to play. The Edinburg, Va., native sank a pair of free throws with 16 seconds to play to reclaim a three-point edge before Greedy Williams intercepted a pass and banked in his layup to secure the 73-68 win.
Stony Brook 79, Hampton 72

Erik Pratt’s 34-point performance lifted Stony Brook (17-11, 9-6 CAA) to a 79-72 victory over Hampton (12-16, 6-9 CAA). The graduate guard went 11-for-15 from the floor, 4-for-4 from deep and 8-of-11 from the charity stripe in the win, adding six boards, two assists and a pair of steals in 39 minutes of work. Richard Goods put forth 15 points and seven rebounds, while Andrej Shoshkikj rounded out those in double figures with 14 points. The Seawolves shot 54.3% from the floor as a team. Hampton’s Michael Eley recorded 17 points in his return.
Etienne Strothers rattled off 11 of the Pirates’ first 13 points of the game, including a trio of 3-pointers, helping the Pirates’ lead grow to as many as four early. Neither team led by more than one possession over the next eight minutes until Stony Brook’s Rob Brown III hit a runner in the paint and connected from deep to give the Seawolves a six-point cushion, 25-19, with six minutes to play. Hampton rattled off eight straight points, part of a 10-2 spree, only for Pratt and Ethan Simmon to sink back-to-back triples in the final 65 seconds to put the Seawolves ahead 33-29 at the break.
After Hampton worked its deficit to as few as three early in the second half, Stony Brook went off on a 13-0 spree. Goods closed the stretch with a trifecta that put the Seawolves ahead 53-36 with 13:32 to play. After a brief exchange of four-point spurts, Kody Williams opened a 15-2 run with a trey before a Xzavier Long slam closed it and pulled the Pirates to within four, 59-55, at the six-minute mark. Stony Brook staved off the late surge with another Brown triple and a trio of free throws from Pratt, pushing the lead to as many as double digits before holding on for the seven-point victory.
