North Carolina A&T Repeats As CAA Men's Indoor Track & Field Champions

FINAL RESULTS
BOSTON, Mass. (Feb. 22. 2026) – North Carolina A&T went back-to-back as CAA Men’s Indoor Track and Field Champions on Sunday at the TRACK at New Balance in Boston.
The Aggies, who were coming off their first CAA Championship in program history just one year prior, paced the field with an impressive 175.5 points. Northeastern, which captured the men’s title in 2023 and 2024, collected second place with 121 points, while William & Mary took third with 120 points. Hampton (98) finished fourth, followed by Monmouth (75.5), Stony Brook (41), Hofstra (39) and Campbell (19).
North Carolina A&T’s Jason Holmes claimed Most Outstanding Track Performer of the Championship honors. The multi-time All-American earned his team 25 points, including wins in the 60m and 60m hurdles.
William & Mary’s Brian Walsh, who won the pentathlon with 3,774 points, was named the Most Outstanding Field Performer of the Championship.
Mile
Northeastern’s Kyle Sarney claimed the event with a 4:06.92 finish to the race. Hofstra’s Abel Kipkemboi was close behind, breaking the program record with a 4:08.76 time. Caleb Gartner podiumed for Stony Brook with a time of 4:09.03.
60m Hurdles
N.C. A&T’s Jason Holmes earned gold with a time of 7.71 seconds, edging his teammate Isaiah Taylor (7.81) to take the top spot in his signature event. Yashahya Brown reached the podium for Hampton with a 7.84 time.
400m
North Carolina A&T registered the top two times in the event, with Elijah Thomas crossing the line in 46.99 seconds for first place. The Aggies’ Xzaviah Taylor (47.10) placed second and Hampton’s Jayden Poteat (47.21) was third.
60m
Holmes took home his second gold medal of the day with a meet-record finish. With a time of 6.67, the 2025 Second-Team All-American in the event eclipsed the meet’s mark by .01 seconds. Campbell’s Bryce Lofton finished second with a 6.733 and narrowly edged A&T’s Lassale Hewlett (6.737).
800m
William & Mary claimed the top two fastest finishes in the event. Matthew Twyman was the quickest amongst the pair, recording a 1:51.48 finish to claim gold, narrowly ahead of teammate’s Jonathan Kumer’s time of 1:51.68. Northeastern’s Brady Danyluk claimed third with his 1:51.982 mark in the race.
200m
The Aggies took the top four spots in the event, tying the meet record in the process. Finishing last year with a 20.80 time, Jordan Ware took top spot with the same time as last season’s championship. Nakhi Benjamin was closely behind with a 20.83 pace, while Jalen Booth-Mitchell (20.99) and Jason Holmes (21.03) garnered third and fourth, respectively.
3000m
Hofstra’s Freddie Kipkosgei set the CAA Championship meet record with his 8:08.29 finish to win the 3000m. Henry Gartner (8:10.08) from Stony Brook came in second and Northeastern’s Ryan Slaney (8:10.16) rounded out the podium.
High Jump
Monmouth’s David Godbolt and North Carolina A&T’s Yule Pieters had a battle for the ages, with the pair both clearing 2.05m. Godbolt was crowned champion after reaching the feat on his second attempt, while Pieters did so on his third attempt. Monmouth’s Gavin Nelson and A&T’s Brenton Baker split third with 2.02m performances.
Shot Put
William & Mary’s Uriah Harris got his first-place medal with an impressive 17.47m throw. North Carolina A&T’s Alex Henry trailed him with a 16.66m toss while Monmouth’s Ronde Washington threw 16.17m for third.
Triple Jump
Xavier Partee went back-to-back as CAA champion in the triple jump with a 15.22m leap. Hampton’s Ellis Branch notched the silver medal with a 15.15m mark and was followed by TyHeak Buie from N.C. A&T with a jump of 15.14m.
Pentathlon
William & Mary’s Brian Walsh stole the show with a 3,774-point performance, which included a win in the long jump. Monmouth’s Zac Jellum Ling recorded 3,697 points for the second spot while his teammate Dylan Bosner claimed third with 3,551 points.
4x800m Relay
The CAA meet record was shattered as William & Mary came out on top. Previously set at 7:35.10, the Tribe team of Travis Wolfe-Thompson, Matthew Twyman, Amberson Bauer and and Jonathan Kumer posted a 7:33.25 finish, just ahead of Northeastern’s 7:34.11 pace. Stony Brook completed the podium with a 7:35.33 time.
4x400m Relay
Hampton’s quartet of Justin Anderson, Ethan Moody, Jason Woods, and Jayden Poteat shattered the CAA record with a 3:08.75 time. North Carolian A&T also eclipsed the 2023 record with a time of 3:09.31 while Northeastern had a 3:15.29 finish for third.
Long Jump
Hampton’s Marquis White eclipsed the CAA meet record by a substantial margin en route to a gold medal. Previously set at 7.34m, White leapt 7.57m and was followed by N.C. A&T’s Kaleb Lucas (7.23m) and William & Mary’s Brian Walsh (7.18m).
Pole Vault
Clearing 4.81m on his second attempt, William & Mary’s Leighton McGee narrowly defeated Hampton’s Floyd Tucker (4.81m) for first place. Northeastern’s Carter Engleman was third in the event with a 4.71m performance.
Weight Throw
The CAA Championship meet record was shattered as N.C. A&T’s Alex Henry took home gold with a throw of 19.54m. William & Mary’s Uriah Harris took the lead with the first throw of the meet (19.14m) and held on to claim second place, while Northeastern’s Logan Alfandari’s 17.86 throw earned him third place.
5000m
William & Mary’s Hayes Trapp claimed the gold medal with a time of 14:22.14. Northeastern was close behind to round out the podium as the Huskies’ Ryan Slaney (14:23.94) was second and Nico Boyle (14:24) was third.
Distance Medley Relay
Northeastern took the top spot in the distance medley relay with the team of Jack Mattingly, Bryan Schaeffer, Dawson French and Kyle Sarney finishing in 10:07.77. Second place went to Hofstra (10:11.47) and Campbell was third (10:18.45).
