CAA Men's And Women's Tennis Weekly Awards - March 17

RICHMOND, Va. (March 17, 2026) – UNCW sophomore Oscar Baumgartner was chosen as the CAA men’s tennis Player of the Week, while UNCW senior Eda Arli received CAA women’s tennis Player of the Week honors. The William & Mary duo of Oliver Hague and Gur Trakhtenberg repeated as men’s Doubles Team of the Week and William & Mary’s Alexia Gonzalez-Galino and Mira Kernagis were selected as the women’s Doubles Team of the Week.
 
CAA Men’s Tennis Player of the Week
Oscar Baumgartner, So., UNCW (Vevey, Switzerland)
Baumgartner posted a 3-0 record at No. 4 singles to help UNCW go unbeaten in the Battle at the Beach with victories over Lehigh (4-0), #72 Kennesaw State (4-0) and CAA foe William & Mary (4-3). The sophomore clinched the match with a 6-3, 6-4 win over Lehigh’s Jackson Morash and defeated Kennesaw’s Anthony Weingarten, 6-4, 6-4. With the match against William & Mary tied at 3-3, Baumgartner rallied past Austin Cohen, 3-6, 6-3, 6-1 to secure the victory for UNCW.

CAA Women’s Tennis Player of the Week
Eda Arli, Sr., UNCW (Izmir, Turkey)
Arli went 3-0 at No. 1 singles last week as UNCW beat Queens (7-0) and CAA foe Stony Brook (4-3) and fell to William & Mary (5-2). The senior opened the week by topping W&M’s Sia Chaudry, 6-3, 6-2, and followed with a 6-4, 6-4 triumph against Queen’s Lucy Hogan. In the narrow win over SBU, Arli battled past Mia Palladino, 4-6, 7-5, 7-5. Arli and partner Elif Albayrak also went 3-0 at No. 1 doubles.

CAA Men’s Tennis Doubles Team of the Week
Oliver Hague, Jr., William & Mary (Manchester, England)
Gur Trakhtenberg, So., William & Mary (Raanana, Israel)
 
Hague and Trakhtenberg repeat as Doubles Team of the Week after going 3-0 at the No. 1 position during the Battle at the Beach. The Tribe duo helped clinch the doubles point against #72 Kennesaw State by beating Dominic Ducariu and Ben Hudson, 6-3. They rolled past Lehigh’s Sean Jaeger and Alex Van Lumich, 6-2, as part of a 4-1 team win. In a battle with CAA foe UNCW, Hague and Trakhtenberg edged Alex de Gabriele and Brady Hussey, 6-4, to help claim the doubles point. Along with their success in doubles, Trakhtenberg and Hague were a combined 6-0 at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles spots.

Alexia Gonzalez-Galino, Fr., William & Mary (Caldes de Montbui, Barcelona, Spain)
Mira Kernagis, So., William & Mary (Glen Ellyn, Ill.)
 
Gonzales-Galino and Kernagis went 2-0 at No. 2 doubles, helping William & Mary claim the doubles point in conference victories over UNCW (5-2) and Charleston (4-3). The Tribe tandem beat UNCW’s Lucia Gomez and Simay Keles, 6-2, before clinching the doubles point at Charleston by edging Oziera Ahmad and Riley Trinkle, 7-6 (9-7). The doubles point would prove to be the difference in the match.
