CAA Women’s Lacrosse Weekly Awards – March 2, 2026

RICHMOND, Va. – Stony Brook’s Isabella Caporuscio and Mirabella Altebrando picked CAA Offensive Player and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively, while their teammate Hailey Huebner and William & Mary’s Sophia Busam split Rookie of the Week recognition on Monday.
 
Offensive Player of the Week
Isabella Caporuscio, Stony Brook
Junior | Midfielder | Mountain Top, Pa.
Caporuscio tallied 15 points on 12 goals and three assists in a 2-1 week for Stony Brook. The Mountain Top, Pa., native started the week with a six-goal performance in a 16-5 rout of UConn. In a home win over a Colorado squad ranked as high as No. 4, the junior midfielder registered a hat trick, finishing with four points. The CAA's Preseason Player of the Year closed the week with a five-point outing (3 G, 2 A) in a narrow setback to No. 4 Northwestern. Contributing on both ends, Caporuscio added 11 ground balls and caused eight turnovers.
 
Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Hailey Huebner, Stony Brook
Sophomore | Defender | Bethesda, Md.
Huebner played in and started all three games in a 2-1 week for Stony Brook, registering eight caused turnovers and five ground balls. The sophomore defender notched two ground balls and a pair of caused turnovers in the team’s victory over UConn. The Bethesda, Md., native also caused three turnovers against both Colorado and Northwestern.
 
Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Sophia Busam, William & Mary
Sophomore | Defender | Summit, N.J.
Busam totaled a career-high three caused turnovers to go with a team-best four ground balls in W&M's 9-7 win against Coastal Carolina. The sophomore defender helped limit the Chanticleers to seven goals in total, including just one tally during the final 26:19 of the contest.
 
Rookie of the Week
Mirabella Altebrando, Stony Brook
Freshman | Midfielder | Miller Place, N.Y.
Altebrando registered eight points in a 2-1 week for Stony Brook, notching three goals and five assists. She also added two ground balls and a caused turnover to her final lines against a loaded schedule of opponents. The freshman midfielder registered a goal and two assists against both UConn and ranked Colorado, helping the Seawolves to wins in both. registered a goal and two assists against both UConn and ranked Colorado, helping the Seawolves to wins in both. She closed the weekend with a goal and a helper against a top-five opponent, Northwestern.
