RICHMOND, Va. (Mar. 25, 206) – The CAA has announced its first rowing weekly awards of the 2026 season. UConn and UAlbany split honors for their performances in the season’s opening weeks.
CO-BOAT OF THE WEEK
UAlbany Varsity 8+
The Great Danes took home gold in the Varsity 8+ event of the John Ferris Regatta on Lake Lanier with a 7:21.347 finish. The team of Gabriella DiOrio (Coxswain), Allison LaBuff (Stroke), Julia Veal, Evangelia Miszko, Riley Fallon, Skylar Dannan, Cate Rochow, Madison Bogart, and Emma Maturo (Bow) finished 14 seconds ahead of runners-up Ithaca College.
CO-BOAT OF THE WEEK
UConn Varsity 4+
The Huskies claimed two race wins in the Stetson Showdown. The lineup of Megan Alvarado (coxswain), Emily Rossmeisl (stroke), Ella Laungprasueth (three), Nola Foote (two), and Aly Dyer (bow) kicked off the morning with an 8:03.02 finish in the V4 to best Jacksonville by 7.1 seconds. Racing against Stetson in the afternoon, the boat won its race with an 8:57.2 speed to earn first place by 46.1 seconds.
