UNCW's Carrico, Drexel's Andreopoulos Set CAA Records At NCAA Men's Swimming Championship

RICHMOND, Va. (March 28, 2026) – Five CAA men’s swimmers completed outstanding seasons at the NCAA Men’s Swimming Championship, which was held March 25-28 at the McCauley Aquatic Center in Atlanta, Ga. The event included two swimmers setting new conference records.
A record-setting performance from UNCW junior William Carrico highlighted Thursday’s action. Competing in the 400 IM, Carrico posted a time of 3:40.89, breaking the CAA all-time record of 3:42.15 he set at the CAA Championship in February. He placed 20
th overall.
Drexel senior Sebastian Smith competed in the 100 fly on Thursday and finished 34
th with a time of 45.76. In the 100 breast, Towson junior Jed Garner placed 33
rd with a time of 52.45.
Garner was back in the pool on Friday competing in the 200 breast, where he posted a 22
nd place finish with a time of 1:53.05.
There was another record-setting performance on Saturday from Drexel’s Theo Andreopoulos, who set a new CAA all-time record in the 200 back with a time of 1:41.58. He placed 36
th overall. Carrico returned to action in the 200 IM and finished 24
th with a time of 1:43.33. UNCW’s Joseph Busic competed in the 200 fly, where he placed 33
rd with a time of 1:43.97.
