Stony Brook’s Altebrando, Caporuscio, Huebner Earn Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-American Honors

RICHMOND, Va. – Stony Brook attacker Mirabella Altebrando, midfielder Isabella Caporuscio and defender Hailey Huebner earned spots on Inside Lacrosse’s Midseason All-America teams on Wednesday.
 
CAA Preseason Player of the Year Caporuscio garnered Second Team honors, while Altebrando and Huebner locked in Honorable Mention nods.
 
Caporuscio has been lethal offensively, producing multi-point efforts in all 11 games this season, including at least three goals in seven contests. The Seawolves’ midfielder is second in the conference with 34 goals and fourth with 42 points. Defensively, she has caused 2.18 turnovers and picked up 2.64 ground balls per contest.
 
Altebrando has complemented Caporuscio on the attacking side, ranking seventh in the CAA with 36 points this season. The freshman attacker has dished out 27 assists in her first 11 collegiate games, good for second in the league and second among freshmen nationally. Altebrando has also picked up a pair of CAA Rookie of the Week honors this season.
 
Huebner has been one of the nation’s best defenders this season, helping the Seawolves surrender just 8.00 goals per game and sitting 11th in the country. The Bethesda, Md., native has picked up four CAA Defensive Player of the Week honors, having averaged 3.40 caused turnovers per contest, good for third in Division I. The sophomore also sits inside the top 20 with 2.90 ground balls per game (19th in NCAA).
