RICHMOND, Va. – The Tewaaraton Foundation has announced Stony Brook women's lacrosse midfielder Isabella Caporuscio as one of 25 nominees for the prestigious Tewaaraton Award, presented by Stifel, on Thursday evening. The Tewaaraton Award is recognized as the preeminent lacrosse award, annually honoring the top male and female college lacrosse player in the United States.
Finalists for the Tewaaraton Award will be announced in early May.
Caporuscio, who has already earned Midseason Second Team All-American status from Inside Lacrosse, has been lethal offensively. The Preseason CAA Player of the Year has produced multi-point efforts in all 15 games this season, including at least three goals in nine contests. The Seawolves’ midfielder is second in the conference with 44 goals and third with 57 points.
Defensively, Caporuscio is pacing the CAA with 2.80 ground balls per contest, while also causing 2.47 turnovers per game to sit tied for third. The Mountain Top, Pa., product has been instrumental in helping the Seawolves rank fifth in the nation with 12.47 forced miscues per slate. Caporuscio has also guided the Seawolves to a 13-2 record with a trio of wins over Top 25 opponents.
Caporuscio will look to become just the fifth CAA player in league history to become a finalist for the Tewaaraton Award. She will also look to become the second Seawolves’ standout to garner finalist recognition since joining the conference, seeing Ellie Masera do the same in 2024.
