Victoria Levy and UNCW Pace Opening Round of 2026 CAA Women’s Golf Championship

RICHMOND, Va. – The UNCW women’s golf team secured a two-stroke lead after the opening round of the 2026 CAA Women’s Golf Championship from The Reserve Club at St. James in Southport, N.C., on Friday afternoon.
The Seahawks’ rise to a 4-over 292 in the first round was led by the clubhouse leader
Victoria Levy. The redshirt senior was the only golfer to shoot under par for the day with a 3-under 69 after sinking five birdies on the afternoon, including two on the final three holes.
Minouche Rooijmans battled her way into a seven-way tie for third place with a 1-over 73, going bogey-free on the final seven holes, highlighted by a birdie on the 16
th hole. Defending champion
Hannah Altman rounded out the top 10 tied with N.C. A&T’s
Tori Mouton at 2-over 74.
Three of the seven players tied at 1-over came from Charleston, as
Carys Fennessy,
Molly Hardwick and
Emilie von Finckenstein all finished with a round score of 73. The Cougars finished at 6-over 294 to sit second in the standings.
Campbell rounded out the top three at 7-over 295 following an even-par from
Jade Potter to sit second among the individuals. The Camels’ top finisher after one round birdied on the 12
th, 13
th and 14
th holes to help break even for the day.
UNCW, Charleston and Campbell will tee off at 9:20 a.m. tomorrow morning from the first hole.
Elon’s
Kelly Zhao and N.C A&T’s Mouton both carded an eagle on the afternoon. Zhao launched her second shot on the par-4, ninth hole into the pin before finishing the day among the crowd at 1-over. Mouton converted on the 457-yard 17
th hole in just three attempts to help finish in the top 10 through the first round.
The Phoenix, William & Mary and Towson will also join the top three teams at the first hole tomorrow morning, set to tee off at 8:30 a.m.
North Carolina A&T, Monmouth and Hofstra will also open action at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow, starting from the 10
th hole.
