Elon Men's And Women's Tennis Teams Headed To Georgia For NCAA Championships

RICHMOND, Va. (April 27, 2026) – The Elon men’s and women’s tennis teams are both headed to the University of Georgia for the opening rounds of the NCAA Tennis Championships after the 64-team fields were announced on Monday afternoon.
The Elon women’s tennis team (15-4), which is making its second consecutive NCAA appearance and third overall, will face Charlotte (22-4) in its first-round match at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 2. The 49ers, who are ranked #33 by the ITA, had a 17-match winning streak snapped by Rice in the semifinals of the American Conference tournament. Also in the four-team draw are No. 1 overall seed Georgia (18-5) and SWAC champion Alabama State (9-8).
The Elon men’s tennis squad (8-12), which is making its first NCAA appearance since 2019 and fourth overall, will meet No. 12 overall seed Georgia (18-8) at 4 p.m. on Friday, May 1. The Bulldogs have captured six national titles in their history. Joining them in the four-team draw are NC State (16-7) and Middle Tennessee (22-8).
Both Elon teams are riding the momentum from capturing CAA championships with the men defeating UNCW, 4-1, and the women edging William & Mary, 4-3.
